Yet Jeff Grubb hasn’t heard anything about this. In fact he’s all in on Kojima+ Xbox. If he were to be busy with two games now, how can he have time for Xbox too? Nah.

I’d doubt it’s that high, dev alone probably cost around 100-150, with marketing on top making it a total of 200 max. Even COD’s total cost doesn’t reach 300m.
Yeah but CoD has a shorter dev cicle. I don’t know how many teams working on a single CoD game at a time but I think those games are done in 3 years at max. And dev labor is the biggest part of the cost.
In the end it doesn’t really matter. This game will be the biggest release of the year and they will support this game for years to come. MCC is 7 years old by now. I expect a similar lifetime for this game.
My only concern is that the game is cross gen. Hopefully that doesn’t work against it for any campaign expansions, unless they chose not to do certain parts for the X1 version.
Destiny is a literal example of cutting expansions to the last gen consoles.
