Thats the appearance for over a decade

Yeah, I’m sure they’re doing something, I mean I guess they kinda have to anyway.

Just hope they can go at it in full power, play dirty, throw money at them, get some massive GP deals and stuff.

I’m not discussing history. I’m focusing on the moment and the future, which no one here knows anything about.

That’s the thing, what forum members like us and even journalists knows about is generally maybe 10% from what is coming, or what is being negotiated. That’s why I’m not saying anything, because we just can’t know about all the future plans.

Microsoft has and will always continue to make investments to be visible in that market. I just don’t think their issue is simply investment. They’re fighting against decades of brand recognition and deeply rooted relationships from the developers to the customers. They can invest as much as they want, there is always going to be a ceiling on their success. In Japan they’re like Stadia and Ouya and all those other systems that have come and gone only they keep sticking around. They’ve got their loyal pocket of fans and that’s cool.

Kojima exclusive + Tales of Arise day 1 Game Pass (both are rumors floating around) will hopefully mark the start of some major power plays with Japanese content.

Hopefully, Capcom is a monster in waiting, Dino Crisis is there…

There is a rumour about Tales of Arise on GP day one? Or it’s like the Re8 one, which didn’t exist by contract.

Thanks!

You see the vision. Its a defunct IP go for it and Fund it. You have game pass to fall on and capcom is super hot right now.

I don’t think Sony will be preventing this deal, if it’s true. They don’t have any marketing rights or deals like with RE8. It actually may be Xbox who has the marketing rights for Arise since they revealed it at E3.

I take all these launching on game pass deal rumors with super grain of salt. Im not doubting Ed Its just better to be on the side of caution.

Oh yes, very true. Even the Kojima game I’m taking with a big grain of salt.

I dont believe the Kojima thing until his game actually launches lmao.

I’ve simply stopped caring about rumours, most of it is bs anyway or completely wrong on details. The vagueness is annoying, and is usually nothing we can’t guess ourselves.

Itagaki liked the Xbox platform. If you notice it was all games he was involved with that were exclusive to xbox . Hell he was fairly vocal about it. (It’s why a certain subset of ā€œgamersā€ dislike him)the second he left Tecmo that shit ended. No more exclusives for xbox and games like Ni oh missed it completely.

Funny thing is DOA and NG sold very well on xbox so I never understood where the "Japanese games don’t do well on xbox " nonsense comes from. They do if they’re good and you know actually release on the console.

Capcom games have no trouble selling on xbox and last I checked they’re Japanese. But Capcom actually releases games on xbox on a regular basis (SFV notwithstanding) unlike Square Enix. So people actually buy them. Can’t purchase what isn’t there.

Also any notion that SE doesn’t want to put games on xbox because Gamepass is silly for a few reasons. Outriders being the biggest one. If anything Square is likely looking for MS to throw bags of upfront money at them for Gamepass deals.

I know we were talking about just Japanese games but it would be cool if MS could fund some older games people want to bring back from 3rd party like

Dino Crisis

Legacy of Kain

Splinter Cell

Lost Planet

Jet Set Radio

Panzer Dragoon

Thanks, I didn’t know, this one is very likely, considering relationships with Bandai Namco. It would be the first high profile game on day one from them. Maybe Scarlent Nexus will be added on E3 day.

With how hot Capcom is lately the fact that dino crisis is there …

Kojima games appeal more to the West than Asian market
