Not gonna lie Id wish these rumors of X, Y and Z unlaunched third party games going to gamepass straight up would not occur lol.
How many actual “AAA” third party have actually launched directly on the service? Outriders and the show?

Those are the big retail games as far as I know.
Most are some of the big name indies and such.
Also WOW, Grubb is really hated by PS fans on OtherERA. Wowzers.

So aside of Square Enix with a new IP that needed a playerbase and MLB doing a deal behind Sony’s back nobody else has launched a game day 1 on the service for a “big hitter”.
Scarlett Nexus would had been neat but more evidence of these games not going into GP than into it.
Why ? he seems like a nice guy.

I’m not taking these “3rd Party AAA into GamePass Day 1” as a sure thing anymore unless they are old ports.
Either they are denying this to save the E3 surprise, or they frauds got this one way wrong, which means future 3rd AAA Day 1 GamePass games will probably be FEW and far between.
His Returnal review and frequent talking about Xbox stuff makes them believe he’s on the payroll.

Like the rumor of “BF6” into GP day 1 makes no sense to me unless EA has decided to make the game F2P. But seeing how that franchise if it reveals well its double digit sales minimum (especially with what seems like a horrendous CoD this year) then idk.
The only one Id like to see is Back 4 Blood because of what you just mentioned Prog. Plus its WB so Im sure they would take the money if it comes.
Personally I would put Arise and Scarlett Nexus on GP day 1 to grow the JRPG audience but it doesnt seem (at least for S.N) that it will happen.

If it were F2P they wouldn’t need gamepass…if anything they could launch it for free on EA Play and bulk their subscribers up.
In order to launch on Gamepass all Microsoft needs to do is show them how much money they might make releasing the game as normal vs. how much money they could make by + the kickback Microsoft pays them. And if the latter is higher and EA is convinced thats all there is.
Microsoft has telemetry of expectations vs. results to convince them, im sure.
Actually we still don’t know about the marketing stuff with Elden Ring, it was based on speculations.
Jeff said they were in the process of getting the deal. Not finalised as a marketing deal.

If the Persona thing turns out to be bullshit @Shpeshal_Nick is in a lot of trouble with a lot of people.
I think people should distinguish when Jeff Grubb is speculating and when he knows something for sure. On his podcast, he is mostly speculating, such as with Elden Ring’s marketing and stuff. If he knows something for sure, he will write an article about it.
