It would annoy so maaany people, lol, but I don’t believe it until I see with my own eyes.
Will be IP where its confirmed it’s no longer in use. Deus Ex comes to mind
Konami’s only relevance in gaming right now is still the fact of them owning these IP, and they’re trying to return to gaming but also expand their IP like MGS and Castlevania to other transmedia, so I highly doubt its Konami tbh. Also this

Could be something like Deus Ex or Tomb Raider from Square Enix maybe?
Deus Ex makes the perfect sense, SE has seemingly given up on it, just buy that shit and give it to Arkane, several people there including Harvey Smith worked on the original Deus Ex games, it’d be a marriage.
But Tomb Raider is a bit more iffy and harder to get, but that could be Xbox’s AAA blockbuster cinematic action adventure lock in. In that case IMO, it’s better off to just acquire the SE West division with Crystal Dynamics and Eidos tbh lol, get the studios and the IP together.
That Bomberman game actually means nothing in the overall scheme of things, since they were last classified as Indie by Nintendo of all ppl. I watched that ND with some surpise. Lol
They are still small, and this is a good way to make a quick buck.
Square does not let go of ip quickly. We are still not sure of Hitman. As long as they have Eidos and Crystal they would want to retain their western ip, IMHO
Konami still make a fortune off thier IP, with those pachinko machines.
like I have no idea why Konami would sell the one thing that still keeps them relevant to any remote degree unless they’re completely trying to get out of gaming, which to me is the opposite of what’s actually happening, them trying to get back into it. Them hiring different studios to work on their IP is a far better and more realistic scenario.
There is no strong evidence of getting into earlier standards of gaming yet. They dont have too much publishing and production strength too to license stuff out and publish it, I think. Unless there is still some production talent left.
Let’s see what happens.
I am waiting for the first signs to see that they have either licensed a major IP for thrid party dev or they are scaling back investments. So, far it has only been rumours from acg and a few others.
Xbox arguably has the richest catalogue of IP’s among all of the big 3. I just can’t see the galaxy brain strategy of buying even more IP. I’ll believe when I see it.
Either way IMO an IP purchase should only come with a game announcement or trailer, just coming on stage and saying “Metal Gear Solid is ours now lmao” would be meaningless given how Xbox hasn’t done shit with Banjo for over a decade. It wouldn’t really excite me to just hear MS bought some IP without also knowing right then what their plans are with it outside “yeah we own this now no idea what’s gonna come of it though but we’ll see”.
precisely lmao.
Sceptical this is true like due to the need of the studios as well
Hmmm, ACG said something similar earlier this year. Something along the lines of games being shopped around and some of it was crazy, maybe he meant this. We’ll see.
See I changed things and you guys didn’t even notice!
genius!
Awesome! Will all OTs move to community now? Even the Xbox Game Studios OT?
No, Studios OT will stay in Gaming.
so… it’s Windows 11 “indeed”. interesting.
Konami IPs please.
