If it were only money, I don’t understand why SE is the only publisher so antagonistic with Xbox releases. I doubt that FF sold less than a Yakuza onn Xbox for example.

They aren’t antagonistic, they’re greedy, accepting deals with Sony and later trying to sell on other platforms for more money.

There was like an 80/20 split between PS and Xbox on FF15. Its an easy deal for Sony to make if they want to keep FF a “exclusive”

2 years timed deals are like permanet ones from a mindshare and even revenue standpoint, also SE neglects many of their b tier games on Xbox, so I really don’t see this great relationship. The proof is that we (as Xbox gamers) rejoice for scraps (not a judgement of the games, but of their financial value) when they land on the platform, like it is a new era every time, then a new exclusive is announced, lmao.

I never said they had a “Great relationship”, simply that I didn’t believe they had a bad one as you were inferring.

I’ll admit I got excited when I found out DQ11 was coming to Xbox since I didn’t think a DQ game would ever come to an Xbox platform. So, downplay the importance of that happening if you want, but I see that as a sign that Phil has been putting in the legwork to improve the relationship with SE. Or, he’s been flashing them “The Green” as they say.

Sony has clearly been more aggressive with regards to FF and I see that as SE liking what Sony is offering them more than it is any sort of ill will towards Xbox.

Either way, it doesn’t matter that much to me. We could both be right or wrong.

This reason can be good for any other Bandai or Capcom game. Why RE or Naruto games are not PS exclusives?

Thanks again for the recommendation, fellas. Just beat RE8 today, what a fantastic game. Debating whether or not to do a second playthrough on a harder difficulty.

Glad you liked it! I loved the game too and right now I am on my 3rd playthrough on VoS, harder difficulties are fun and not too bad in terms of challenge in NG+ (though clear saves starting from zero is a totally different beast…) so I’d say go for it.

Yeah probably, but I won’t ever buy a PS5 for 4 or 5 Japanese games, and their exclusives don’t attract me…

Im the opposite lol. I like the jrpg’s that launch there + I can play the Sony exclusives and beat them (only one I dropped was Tsushima).

I understand this, but gladly my favorite games minus FF are on Xbox already so I’m good.

I’ll certainly get a switch at some point though, I’d get so many games for it…

FF has been a “Playstation” game since FF7. They care more about keeping that relationship than thry care about others.
