we’ve known about the Atlus part for a good while now ever since P4 Golden absolutely smashed sales on Steam. I think future Persona games are guaranteed to come to PC day 1 and with a bit more time and effort from MS’ side, even Xbox day 1 could be possible. I feel rumors of P5R on gamepass shall be the testing waters in the same way Yakuza went from being nowhere on Xbox for all this time and now MS being partly responsible for Yakuza 7 massive success by funding its globalization. Oh how the turn tables.
I’m even willing to go ahead and say Persona will see higher number of players on Gamepass over time than Playstation ever saw.
In the first case, they reports the main news (aka new engine), in the second they focus only on a sub-product of the news in order to spin the clicks generated by console wars. Gaming journalism at its finest.
And if you point it out to them, they go crazy like Jason Schreier&co, I even had a personal case with a gaming journos that I met during a Xbox event in my country, who literally said to me “we have to spin the news to generate as much clicks as possible, it’s the ugly truth, whoever say you the contrary is lying”.
Personally I wish they ended Kait’s story with 5, I just don’t find it all that interesting. It kinda felt like a missed opportunity to me too, more could have been done. But I guess I’m probably just a little Gearsed out at this point. It’s probably a very good thing it will take a long time for 6 to arrive, maybe they can truly fulfill their vision this time.
If that means new Steamworld Dig games, bring it ooooon! I loved 1 and 2.
