Steam has 200m monthly active users and steam does not even invest in hardware like at all (maybe like 4-6 million steam deck out there, less then 5%)
Console business is wierdđ

Before you squint, itâs basically Nintendo closing down voucher system, so more money for Nintendo.
Because Windows does all the carrying, which is why I think Xbox is being changed up to make Xbox more of a service on Windows, instead of itâs own platform.
I could actually see this one.
2027 release?
As usual, a healthy balance is the key to success. Thatâs why Steam has tried to get into dedicated hardware for many years now (Steam Machines, Steam Link, Steam Deck) and why Xbox is trying to expand beyond a locked-down console.
In a few years Steam and Xbox could be in a similar position, with a healthy mix of dedicated hardware and an open platform, while PlayStation and Nintendo are left thinking âah, crapâ as their userbase crumbles away (if they donât pivot themselves.) Most kids these days just arenât interested in traditional consoles anymore.
I donât know why but on resetera there are different posts about a âwhat Worldâs Edge Is working onâ and AOE of Empires 5 Is a seguire bet.
I think that It already been in development but not by RELIC.
What do you think about It?
Remember that AOE4 have been released 4 Years ago and It solds (DLCs included) over 4 milions of copies. So thereâs a bit interest of Xbox to invest into a new main title.
Relic is a small team and they are already working on Upcoming AOE4 DLC, Company of Heroes 3, Dawn of War remaster and a possible Dawn of War 4.
Worldâs Edge Is a small team too .
Maybe creative assembly? Or a different studio?
Thatâs possible, thereâs a clear interest in the series and even when we get a lot of complaints online by the loud people. AOE is still going strong even after the break the series took.
This isnât a fanboy, console war cheap shot - Ghost of Yotei looks genuinely mid. Iâd believe it if you told me this was a PS4 game.
I think they went with more style as substance seems largely the same.
I havenât watched the SOP yet but from reading reactions Iâm getting the sense that people were not impressed?
I get the whole concept of power saving that Zos was going with when they decided to lower the fps in the menus to 30fps, and I even get thatâs why Elder Scrolls Online becomes super low res when being idle for too long.
But man itâs always a surprise to come back after a couple of minutes to see the game looking like that, I do wonder if Zos ever implemented VRS? I know they had been talking about it previously, and I get that PS5 not being able to do hardware VRS could be considered detriment. But 5Pro can do it and the work that iD did with Doom TDA shows that VRS is a great tech to help maintain most of the games visuals while improving performance all around and even PS5 looked great. It was only when DF was focusing on the mountain/skullface on the background that it really showed the difference and the variable resolution didnât detract from the presentation.
Given how risky it would be to launch another Age game and fracture the playerbase, I think AOE2 DLC and AOE4 DLC is likely all the new content going forward. Depending on how the AOM PS5 port goes maybe it gets another DLC.
Iâm still waiting for DS2 sales numbers. I donât want to rely on something that got Doom The Dark Ages numbers or FFXVI on Xbox wrong. I want word of mouth.
I nean you can just go look up the old data for Dark Souls 2, any new sales wouldnât be any good/j
DeS2? Will that work? Like how God of War took GoW before Gears. Lol. But yes, thatâs it.
No itâs fine, I knew you meant Death Stranding 2 I was just joking about how there are like 3 games that go by DS2, I donât remember the other one though.
