It does look good and I’m glad they’re actually remaking it not remastering like 343 did as they get a chance to understand the workings better, though to me looking at Halo infinite, I’d say the gunplay feels tighter in infinite. I’d hope with the time left they can reproduce that gunplay feel, that’s all I need.
Yeah, I can’t shut up about how frustrated I am over the way people respond to stuff. What Microsoft is demanding from Xbox is bad, but also it’s nothing unique. When you zoom out people have accepted, not just that but they happily still attack Xbox, similar price increases on other platforms. They’ve accepted higher price increases and worse consumer treatment. And they’ve attacked Game Pass and the Series S and PC day one and play anywhere and EVERYTHING that gave consumers more value for a very very low competitive price. How can it be expected that Xbox will uniquely play the super good guy when they get attacked for doing that anyway and you have Nintendo getting rewarded for $80 games and $70 games. Nintendo has had more game price increases from the WiiU/3DS to Switch 2 than anyone else. Pokémon games have gone from $40 to $70 and they still sell gang busters. I don’t like the state of things either, but this insane bias frustrates me to no end. Especially because THINGS WON’T IMPROVE IF XBOX IS THE ONLY BUSINESS HELD ACCOUNTABLE. The layoffs at Xbox have been bad, but they comparatively haven’t been as bad as most other players in the industry right now. The same goes for the price increases. The online discourse treating it as if Xbox is the only company having these problems is anal. And it ignores all the root issues. Just a few months ago we were still on the conversation that that game pass ultimate was too cheap and eating away at the industry and providing TOO MUCH value. I know it because I remember making comments about how no one talks about any of the other subscription services including the ones with day one games like Ubisoft+. And now it’s that Game Pass Ultimate is too expensive and Xbox is too greedy and they’re dying because they uniquely provide zero value. It’s truly maddening.
On the crash, yeah, I mean something has to be coming. In general in economics I remember learning that it’s a bit cyclical. Like recessions happen and are supposed to happen and are healthy in the long term. But a big issue is when recessions are staved off for too long and the resulting fallout builds up. The AI bubble contributes to this but also how long we’ve prolonged the economic troubles of COVID and everything. Some economists say we never really got out of the 2008 recession because of government bailouts. I’m not an economist and I don’t know the future, but there’s just a general feeling of financial instability right now. There’s a feeling of instability around the world right now and a lot of unrest. It almost feels like I’m holding my breath waiting for something really bad to happen. I hope nothing does. Like I expect at minimum a basic recession and for the AI bubble to crash, but I hope nothing too painful occurs. And I hope nothing terribly violent occurs. I live in this economy and world after all.
I think gaming can also be a really resilient industry and I wish Microsoft understood that better. Like during COVID we saw playtime and spending go up. We’re also still seeing gamers spend more time and money in games even as their wallets are squeezed hard. It’s a hobby sure, but it’s also one that can be done at home with ease and one that gives people escapism during tumultuous times. It’s also increasingly becoming a great way for people to stay connected with friends and family when it’s not so easy to visit them. Gaming will definitely be hit, but it will also have financial opportunities. One of the big issues with COVID is that none of the gaming companies were prepared to take advantage of it at all, they still got affected by supply chain and other economic issues, and then they tried to build up during/after COVID expecting the trend to continue past lock down for… some reason (what even are CEOs paid for
). Microsoft would be amiss to throw ALL their eggs into AI and not recognize the importance gaming represents and the resilience it represents. If they have a strong infrastructure in place when we do hit a recession, or whatever, then they could potentially benefit from the situation.
From what we’ve seen with Playstation sales data, Sony is struggling to get their gamers to buy both their exclusives and more games in general. The vast majority just buy their PS to spend all their time and money in a small handful of games and franchises that Sony doesn’t own. If Xbox hardware sales being “fine” (30 to 40m estimates after 5 years) means Xbox is dying, then people should be raising alarm bells over how poorly Playstation first party is selling on Playstation consoles. And it’s not like they can point to Game Pass Ultimate subs as another metric. As of now, Microsoft is a far more successful publisher on Playstation than Sony, and that’s including recent XGS ports like Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 5 (both of which are 4+ years old). Sony is losing relevancy as a developer and publisher on their own platform. That’s not good with the rising costs of development. Also with hardware still probably just being sold at cost. They only get 30% from third party vs 100% from first party on PS. So if they don’t make a profit on hardware (or only make a small one) and no one is really buying their increasingly expensive first party games, then I feel like that’s no super good. More multiplatform releases will probably be necessary going forward. And we know they’re hiring people to help with that transition.
Yeah same, I just hope it isn’t something engine related, Halo 5 and Halo Infinite had great gunplay, I love how Infinite feels especially, so hopefully they can replicate that feeling in UE5, they probably have another year left of work so they probably can and there’s other shooters that feel great already on UE5 so it should be doable, I just that the trailer was uploaded on the PlayStation Youtube channel… Man, still feels weird, gonna take some time to get used to this, even if I already expected it.
make no mistake, if this release had multiplayer included they would find some other stuff to complain about.
This is Ninja Gaiden 4 right? I picked the same (Japanese audio). I do find that a very interesting disclaimer because no matter what the translation just isn’t, and I don’t think it should be, one to one. It’s very interesting as I’m learning Japanese. There’s a lot of stuff embedded into the language which is just cultural and doesn’t really “mean” anything in a way you can easily translate to “match” the audio. Like one is “Otsukaresamadesu” which is pretty much just what you say in Japan after anyone has done any work at all (like for example, if you go to the dentist in Japan, the staff will say “Otsukaresamadesu” when you’ve finished your appointment or people will say it a dozen times throughout the working day as virtually just another greeting). A direct translation would be “Thanks for your hard work.” but a more “matching” translation might be more like “good work” or just a thumbs up. Like at least in the USA I know we certainly don’t use “Thanks for the hard work” in a similar way and thus it just automatically means something different.
And then sometimes the characters will like make a single Japanese character sound and the subtitles will make that into an entire sentence and I just find that hilarious. I think translations are a super interesting subject. So much of language is influenced by culture and so much of culture is influenced by language. Translating to match the “meaning” is such a deeply layered task.
Agreed Halo Infinite’s gunplay is one of the best in my opinion. Having that here is all I need. Could care less about the PlayStation version. Good for them. If anything if the game does well over there it will be certain to have a positive effect on Game Pass because that will be one of the only ways a PlayStation user would be able to play the other games in the series.
My digital library is on xbox, i think you might have thought i have a digital library on playstation. No offense to be made here, but i rather make purchases on xbox and steam stores(Althgough i use the former more cause of play anywhere) than think of doing any kind of pruchase on either nintnedo or playstation store.
Got it. I was more just thinking that you were of the opinion that moving to PlayStation was better at this last stage.
Its all good. the main three places that anyone of sound mind would use as part of their digital library would be Gog, Steam and Xbox. I did not include epic here mostly cause i do not know how they do things in terms of preservation compared to the other three i mentioned.
Also, i do wonder if xbox will try and establish some new flagship experience for xbox hardware and so forth with halo now as multiplat going forward. Cause that is going to be a lot more work than its going to cut in, mostly cause new ip are harder to meet an audinece unless they know what their strenghts are. Thats why avowed did not really meet that flagship experience, at least that is my more personal perspective on the whole shebang.
Do i think clockwork revolution might just be that? I have a feeling like it will be and much more.
I’m betraying Xbox Era by listening to these guys from Xbox Expansion Pass doing a live stream at the moment:

Great discussion. They need some love to be honest, because they are really small at the moment.
Oh I know lol, I saw people complaining about sprint in this, and it’s a campaign and sprint is optional but I don’t understand why I wouldn’t want to use sprint in this, should make legendary play throughs even better.
The last time we had a Halo game and a Forza Horizon game the same year I was pretty happy with my Xbox and it might have been my favorite or one of my favorite times this generation (2021).
I wonder why he only posted these two and not Fable but he said he was basically celebrating the trio of Gears, Forza and Halo. Truly hope the rumor about Fable at dev direct in January is true , cause that definitely increases the chance of a 2026 release.
And it’s really time too tbh
Early to predict, but I wonder who will be at Direct aside from Fable. I feel like a surprise is going to happen again.
136 views?! If I like it I’ll give them my hype points. Idk what hype points do. But God that name is kinda cringe… and a little late. How much do people say hype anymore? YouTube is showing its age.
Oh speaking of, if we’re plugging: https://youtu.be/G3W4IoqfST4?si=Fsr66LKitef57rfK
This is an older vid I haven’t finished (3 hours if you’re looking for background noise) that goes over all the anti-woke nonsense in gaming.
Phil said all four by name “in 2026” during the June showcase. Of course things can change (and they certainly have even after Phil said something). But I’ll be hopeful. Technically Fable is currently the least likely to be delayed as we’ve seen the most of it.
Them five interval anniversary years baby!
Nephews and niece are back home again, and as always we had tons of fun.
Played some Moving Out 2, really cool but I noticed that as soon as my niece noticed you can slap other players…it was all she did. She really didn’t cooperate too well, sounds funny, but became annoying, lmfao. We had the most fun with Mad Streets. Such a silly, but fun game. Balance is all out of wack, but that’s part of the charm.
I’m hoping the new LEGO Batman is early next year because man, are we gonna enjoy that.

Ugh, why aviation faults this year has to be so traumatizing. But seriously, my schedule is against me. Hope it does solid. It screams for me.
Edit: Oh next year? I have a chance!
