No. The problem for corporations is gamers who only ever play the F2P evergreen titles and/or just 2 or 3 games a year: Fortnite/Apex, and then COD and Football/Soccer/Basketball sport. They don’t spend enough in MTX to offset the console hardware subsidy.

I haven’t played Forbidden West and only part of Zero Dawn, but dang… Ashly Burch is great. I feel like if she’s in your game, you want to hear more from her, not less.

The current leadership of Xbox and Sony don’t try hard enough. You’re telling me a Fallout game won’t sell? A new Forza Horizon wouldn’t sell? They need to buy more studios or involve studios as partners. They basically are that meme that says we tried nothing and that didn’t work.

Look at the financial reports, and other industry articles about this. Its something like over 90% of all revenue is from a dozen or so blackhole/evergreen titles.

That just seems like a safety net though. Forza Horizon is my favorite game. I love it. That said I’ve been sick of the Forza Horizon 5 map for years now. Give me a new game already. Stuff like this is why Sony and Microsoft are screwing things up.

FH5 released less than 3 years ago. So basically you want a new game every 6 months?
Every 4-5 years is too long of a wait for a new Forza Horizon game. Yes Xbox has dropped the ball on this and it’s not the only franchise either, there are many more examples.
This attitude right here is why devs hate most gamers and the discourse online is overwhelming toxic. Entitlement in this era? Please.

If you now look at the ridiculous price of the Pro, and probably next gen too…
That Fire Stick with Game Pass is an insane steal! If you say, don’t care about having the best resolution possible and you don’t mind streaming games? It’s a super deal.
Right now it’s only Game Pass, right? Or can you stream any (third party) game too?
That’s just an excuse though. Why can’t they simply find solutions. Add studios, outsource. Grow the teams. There are solutions to the problem of gamers wanting games from very popular franchises.
Sometimes the problem is as simple as not green lighting a project soon enough. How many games should’ve been green-lit years earlier by Xbox and Sony. Now they have the audacity to tell us to be more patient. This is the harsh truth.
Tell me you don’t know how anything works without telling me you don’t know how anything works.
They do all of the things you listed, AAA games just take five years to make with hundreds and hundreds of people. Deal with it.

Getting a game of the scope and quality of FH every 2-3 years was a miracle, more than happy for them to have more time. Especially when it coincided with them building a new team to be able to take on… more projects lol

I think the PlayStation margins have reduced sure they are generating more revenue, but I don’t think they are getting much profit overall. The reality is this is the price they’ve arrived at for a mid-gen refresh and NextGen is certain to require more than a modest boost. This is a that just won’t work for the casuals.
As I said that is just not realistic. If they are subsidizing at 100 to 200 dollars then the real price of the consoles could be 100 to 200 more than the cost we see now, pretty much series X could be 600 to 700 dollars. I also do recall that some of the guys that went for the June show case had asked Jason Ronald what it would cost for a real NextGen console, and they were told over a thousand. That I don’t think can be subsidized. Also, just how many hit games do you know that is generating billions other than FTP games. Look at Ubisoft with the hit games still falling. Subsidizing won’t work anymore as the cost and risk is just too high. I think hybrid console like PC and handhelds are the future now.
I would also love a Forza Horizon every 2-3 years 
That would be nice, too bad those days are gone.
