More than anything I think this solidifies my move to PC in the future. Especially since this will likely be what a next gen console price point looks like. A PC has both PS and Xbox games and runs them better than either console. It really makes the choice easy for me.

Considering the performance leap being so mediocre, it was definitely the right call.
PS5 to PS5 pro - with 45% graphical improvement you go from 30 to 43 fps for the same graphics settings.
Xbox one to Xbox One X was around 400% graphical improvement.
Itās better to just wait for bigger graphical leaps, I donāt think the prices are going to be as low as the current gen though, semiconductor nodes are getting more expensive because of rising complexity. Graphics cards have been steadily increasing in price every generation too. Sony is probably testing waters and the answer so far seems to be an overwhelming no. Will probably have to price next gen a 100$ cheaper.

If can hold off for a few years, itās possible the next Xbox could be that PC for you lol.
Be interesting if it was a hybrid that works for both casual users and those of us wanting it to do more

If you havenāt already Iād really recommend trying out a SteamDeck.
It has a console like experience/features and online is free (including cloud saves). PC games are typically cheaper than their console equivalents, there is a wider selection of games (including PS/Xbox games) and the community/friend features are typically better too.
I really appreciate that it has Fast Resume (like Xboxās Quick Resume).
Depending on what the next consoles have to offer, Iām likely going all in on PC.

I have one. I mostly play retro games on it (EmuDeck/emulation station). I have been a Steam user since half life 2. I think this year will be my 20 year badge. I own something like 1200 games on Steam. lol. I should have said āsolidified my triumphant return to being a PC goon like I was in the late 90s/early 2000sā
My plan is to go 5080 or 5090 based mega rig.

After the kids were born, the console was just more affordable and convenient, however now I think console is losing itās appeal (for me).
