But why would people switch to PC if they already have all of their games and saves on Switch ? I mean, of course, they can, but I see many kids play only on Switch and/or phone when they can have one. PC is either too complicated or expensive.

My point is, people already invested a lot into the Switch/Nintendo ecosystem since 2017 so it’s easier to go with the Switch 2. You can play almost all of your games and even better with performance updates.

They will buy the Switch 2 at some point because it’s the natural evolution of their gaming habits just like it’s easier to go from Xbox One to Xbox Series.

And most PC gamers also play on console. I don’t know or even met one true PC gamer, it’s a myth of online forums. They were console gamer in the past and are potential buyers of a console, especially Switch because of the games it offers and the ability to play on the go. Switch 2 is perfect for tech enthusiasts.

Edit: Sorry, maybe this is not the thread to talk about this. I think the discussion is interesting.

I just got an Xbox message with a code for Gears 1 Reloaded.

“As a thank you for being a Gears fan, we’re offering owners of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (digital) a free code for Gears of War: Reloaded, playable on Xbox Series X|S and PC.”

Those my personal rankings for the Xbox Games Showcases since July 2020 through June 2025. Percentage is based on how many games are for me out of how many games are shown. Games must be released on or after November 10th, 2020 to be included. No remasters, upgrades or VR games are included as none of them apply to me so including them would only decrease the percentage. Games must be completed to officially count. I retroactively go through the showcases every year to see if game I wasn’t interested in back then interests me now and vice versa.

Everyone I know on PC has only PC. I see them online all the time through the Xbox app since they all game on Windows, and none of them have seen the need to buy consoles. It’s actually quite common, I don’t see how it’s an online myth since that’s pretty much what everyone I know does. I’m one of the only ones on console.

Kids are also not crazy on Switch, at least from what I remember seeing from charts. A lot of Switch owners are 30+ years old which doesn’t surprise me. Kids prefer to play on their ipads than use a Switch. Usually it’s the parent buying it trying to push it unto them as that’S what they grew up with, but it’s not what today’s kids want to actually do.

I could see Switch being a side gig for PC gamers, like the casual console you keep in the gaming room for when you have people over for some Mario Kart or Mario Party, but I have yet to meet someone who uses it as their main platform.

We will see how it goes for Switch 2, but with both Xbox and PS5 selling less this gen and with Steam concurrent numbers reaching new heights every year, as well as MS saying they see most of their growth on PC, imo I think it’s clear where the market is heading.

That’s interesitng because that’s not my experience. I don’t know PC gamers only, or maybe some of them are, but that’s because they don’t play that often.

Kids I know all have a Switch, mainly a Switch Lite, but maybe that’s anecdotal. They are not even familiar with PC like I was at their age. I don’t think it is something they will be leaning towards in the future either. But again, maybe it’s anecdotal and some young folks are playing PC games and I didn’t met them.

What I see is that the Switch 1 sold very well and the Switch 2 is just an evolution of the Switch 1. And we know for sure that people tend to buy into the platform where they can keep playing all of their games.

People will either lose all the games they bought or move to Switch 2, and that’s a tough call to make I would assume.

Switch 2 Lite and OLED are coming at some point and people will just upgrade when they feel like it. And people also bought PS5 and Xbox Series at their highest price so that’s not really a point either.

That’s my perspective though. To me Switch 2 is in a comparable situation as the PS5, people will buy it as if it’s the next IPhone and they have to upgrade.

Sorry, I may be rambling a bit. I guess I made my point clear. Let’s see what happens.

I really don’t enjoy that I have to let Torvesard do his thing, when I know I can kill him during every encounter. I think Zos dropped the ball with how he gets what he wants, because I’m always standing there ready to kill him and nope, sorry, story.

At the very least they should have let me fight him at every turn, have him use something to escape after he gets what he wants. Maybe have Torvesard have some sort of ability that allows him to clone himself or change events around him in short sequences to help him escape.

Now this is better, having other Daedra attack and used delay tactics like in the next area would have been worked too. Since I would be stopped by an enemy that’s unkillable for a the time Torvesard need to put his plan into action. Not just him talking to me as he does what he wants to do.

Unfortunately, the next scene was again, we stand by while Torvesard gets away and there’s nothing stopping or slowing us down for him to do so because story. It’s kind of frustrating, because nothing Torvesard has done makes him a threat to our characters in anyway, but he finds us interesting, so we just have to stand there doing nothing as he tells us what he is doing and does it.

Like having us be an actual minute or 2 behind and just catching up to him as he makes his way to his next destination leaving us to do investigate to try and find out where he’s going before catching up would have been a better result for me. I know this is just the intro quest, but this is how it’s been every time with Torvesard and it gets old quick, because were supposed to be stopping him but we just stand there unable to do anything.

Edit: Sorry for my rant, it’s just this way of writing the story just so that we get extra lines from the villain is really not my thing.

Edit: and the next scene they did just what would have made every other scene work, have us arrive as Torvesard is running.

He said he’s tried it all, except a full on reset of the Xbox. He rather not do that because he has to install and do everything over again. It’s a bit drastic, I get that, but if it’s the only option left…

Yesterday we were playing a game in co-op and he said all was fine, or he thought because soon the artifacts were back again. So he disabled 120hz. He plays several games that allow it in 40fps, but that only works with 120hz enabled, is that correct? I personally never choose 120fps modes in games because of visual sacrifice, but 40fps is the truth.

Interesting I had a similar issue on my old TV but it only happened on AC Valhalla, if I remember correctly it only did it when I launched it from quick resume.

Has he been able to confirm these artifacts only happen on the XSX and not any other inputs?

Has he checked both the Xbox and TV is running the latest firmware/update?

It may also be worth turning the different video settings off (in order) to see if it’s one of those settings impacting it.

I got my code last night as well but the thing is that I don’t own Gears UE digitally…I have the physical version which I got day one back at launch (as with every other title in the series) so maybe they are giving codes to (day one) physical owners of UE as well or giving codes to old fans of the franchise? either way a nice surprise since I wasn’t expecting a code!

I’ll definitely check out the beta this weekend!

In other news, but I think we kinda knew this by now?

I would believe that if they said capabilities and not power, because the Switch 2 has quite a bit of newer tech when compaired to the PS4 and generally devs have been, very down on the Series S for forcing them to optimize their games better.

But it’s also sus to be using the Series S to praise the Switch 2, when it has been the punching bag of the industry for the last 5 years. Heck, the Wukong(sorry I confused the 2 names) devs just took another cheap shot at the Series S as oart of their Xbox launch announcement.

I’ve played Fortnite on both Switch 2 and Series S recently and it plays better and looks better on Series S. Switch 2 version has slowdowns in game when it loads (not something I see on Series S) and it doesn’t have 120fps support in 1080p and everything looks a tad softer imo, even though technically from the blog post Fortnite on Switch 2 runs at a higher resolution than Series S.

Bu I could certainly see the Switch 2 being in between a PS4 and a Series S. How close it is to one or the other is still up for debate imo. We need to see more.

Very curious if folks here are going to review this.

Anyone watched the podcast episode with Phil Spencer? There was one point where the guy asked about the demos at the show floor in SGF, and Phil was calling it “E3” as he is old school. I wonder if Geoff is like seething. Lol.

Yeah I own it physically as well. I think the digital version may have been given out free at some point. Or maybe as a preorder bonus for Gears 4 or 5?
