As we should; even before this, you could still technically play more of the original mainline titles on X/S because of backcompat and having access to them XIII trilogy (massively underrated IMO). Now we’ll have them all playable on one console; minus 11, which hasn’t been playable on consoles since 2016. I’ve been saying this for years and the moment the inevitable XVI and Remake trilogy announcement occurred, it’d just cement that point.

Yup, and I’m a part of it. Switch 2 is a beast. I wonder if sales will keep up considering the price tag which is like 50% more expensive than the previous console.

If it does Nintendo will probably have sold more systems than MS this gen within 2 or 3 years.

The other day I read that High on Life has 20 million players base :exploding_head:

Just show you the significant to announce it at the Showcase.

It went pretty viral I think. One of the highlights of that barren year.

My estimate was (and still is) that the Switch 2 will sell about half as many units as the original Switch. Mostly due to lack of innovation, higher prices for hardware and games, competition from other handhelds, and people getting fed up with Nintendo’s shitty practices.

Blacktail is only €7.49

Great deal!

I wanted to double dip for cyberpunk on the go, but at 100$ Canadian, I’ll wait for a deep discount sale lol.

But indeed m, here it’s like 100-110$ per game, that’s insane. Wonder how long it’ll keep up or if a small minority of hardcore is what we are seeing right now and if hype will die down before the end of the year.

Not like I’m hoping it fails, but prices are indeed crazy!

Kinda long article.

A post was split to a new topic: Jumping Flash had a PSVR game but it was canceled

Not sure about that. I can see many PC gamers being interested to buy a Switch 2 because it can compete with other PC handhelds while having access to the tempting Nintendo library. And it’s also a pretty decent and capable livingroom console.

Most people don’t care about paying 80$ or 100$ for that Nintendo game they will play for the next 5 to 10 years. Most people are casual gamers that play F2P games and a few Nintendo games.

It’s an all around better Switch. People will get it when they feel the need to make the jump. Switch 2 will sell over time probably as much as Switch 1, if not more when a Lite or OLED model will launch.

My last thought is that kids who had the Switch 1 at launch are probably old enough to buy their own stuff now.

I think it pretty reasonable to expect it not to sell as well as the first. Will it be half? Who knows, but I would be fairly confident that it won’t sell 150+ again. Just by the very nature that the idea is no longer novel and that there are more options available in a similar formfactor.

It will still do exceedingly well, though.

People still have their Switch library of games on cartridges or digital. They will make the jump at some point when their Switch 1 fails in the next 4-5 years. They will have to.

It’s not about the power or capabilities of the console or anything, it’s just that people have invested in the platform and want to keep playing what they have, just like people went from PS4 to PS5 disregarding other constraints like the form factor.

New news, things that don’t have a topic, make a new one instead of just posting it in here!

As prices keep going up on top of having to pay for online and the price of games, I personally can only see PC adoption growing and console adoption slowing down. I think MS’ move to PC is a smart one and the sooner the better. I think console ecosystems will break in exchange for app ecosystems.

The moment all Sony and Microsoft stuff is on PC, you take away the price of buying 2 consoles, you remove the 5-10$ a month subscription for online, and that PC purchase starts making a lot more sense. Release software everywhere but keep that special something exclusive to your store (Gamepass) and like MS is doing, partner with OEMs for specific hardware to push your brand.

I can buy a ROG Ally X for the same price as a switch 2 here it’s kinda crazy, as we get more of those devices prices can only go down with mass adoption.

Can’t wait for the one console future aka PC

PC gamers who didn’t buy a Switch when there were no PC handhelds, are not going to buy a Switch now that there are PC handhelds.

Time will tell. But I don’t see the Switch 2 getting anywhere near the Switch 1 numbers.
