Its become worse with politics in the mix as well.
In another matter, between Shin Megami Tensei 5 or Metaphor Refantazio, which of the two makes the most sense to buy? Planning on nabbing one of them in the xbox store pretty soon.
Do you want more pure mechanics or story?

Metaphor is much more storyfocused. SMT is a lot more pure mechanics usually.

Also looks like Metaphor has a free 6 hour demo where your save carries over. So maybe give it a shot?

I 100% enjoyed my time with Metaphor more than Smt5 but they are both worth playing. I like the different spins on the similar formula.
