Have you played MindJack? It also has mind jumping. And there is Clive Barker’s Jericho, where your character canonically dies in first mission but still sticks around as squad leader and jumps between teammates.
Maybe it’s just me but xcloud looks rather good. I mean true, I haven’t seen Nvidia, but I don’t see it as a “Ew I can’t play” and I have 20/20. My brother has been playing CoD and it looks pretty good, even on Xbox xcloud, because I forgot to insert the memory card. lol.
After listening to accounts from Shpeshal Nick and Doncabesa regarding their encounters with British cuisine served up by Sikamikanico, I just watched the latest Spiffing Brit video, who rates general British fare:
Edit: And you can’t now! The Spiffing Brit delves into the Youtube algorithm, and posted a video that he cut in half!
It’s definitely serviceable, we have to be real, for what it is in terms of value for what you pay (Game Pass and Cloud) it definitely delivers. Picture quality is soft though compared to others but responsiveness is there and with a cloud controller would be even better. It send the Xbox Series S version of the game so it should be limited to 1080p but I do think they could improve on the bitrate as it is the one area they are severely lacking. If they’d at least get high bitrate 1080p HDR I think people would be a lot more forgiving.
I was replaying Wolfenstein TNC (finished, what a masterpiece) and what sucked me back in was booting it up through xCloud on a whim. It damn near felt native streaming on the Series X. Picture quality looked much better than what I’ve experienced streaming via mobile oddly enough. xCloud even encouraged me to install the game after streaming for like 30 minutes though lol.
I actually watched that video before it was cut in half and I found his rating of British food/snacks to be quite amusing. Jez wouldn’t be happy with his rating of beans and toast.
There’s a demo of a game called Dahlia View on Xbox.
It’s about a former PI, he’s wheelchair bound and thus you control him that way too. I’d say it’s like an adventure game where you investigate stuff, this seems to be a (murder?) mystery game, so far it’s damned interesting.
So if that’s your thing, make sure to check that out. I find it quite unique in ways.
I would suggest listening to it – they were clearly very positive on Hellblade’s rendering and it came down to scope / 60fps for Indy.
I also was surprised by some of the technical details for Penny – I had no idea it was procgen.
ETA: 3 GamePass games getting honorable mentions plus the number 1 and number 2 slot for Xbox first party is pretty wild.
the what now?!
This has nothing to do with nothing, but while sitting at my desk, deep in work earlier, I had a thought: Disney and WB are sitting on a huge collection of comic book games (whether they are good or not is subjective) and the vast majority have never been on any systems besides the original hardware (even the 1977 Superman - which was the first game to have multiple screens without loading). From a preservation standpoint, it is too bad, and from a comic fan standpoint, it sucks.
So, like comic books themselves, what if they re-released multiple “volumes” of the games on current gen? I understand that the 3D games (especially the early 3D ones with copious amounts of weird code) might not be very portable, but the 2D entries should be fine, right? Imagine - “DC Games Vol 1. 1977-1984” or “Marvel Games Vol 2. 1990-1995”.
At this point I am just ranting, but I just wish these companies would do something.
It makes me wonder if they even have the original files to port for such an effort. I think it likely wouldn’t cost them too much to do so and it could make a decent amount of money.
At least enough to justify them to the suits, but even then, I can see anyone in charge say it’s a waste of time because the current climate of gaming being online games meant to be played forever.
Good point about the original files. That did not cross my mind, oddly enough. As for the cost, you think it would not be too bad, but the only people who would want to by it are either older demographics or uber comic fans. Neither of which is large enough to probably justify the costs

Eventually…
It’s probably like some here have said before, it won’t come until all parts are out.
I mean… we just were told this by Hamaguchi.
No cross-saves for Dishonored 2? Trying to play on my Xbox (PC) and this gam keeps busting my butt on the UX side of things. Great game otherwise…
But of course we will get a port next year… on Switch 2!
Hadn’t see this myself. Thanks!
That’s the thing, watch it be just that. But let’s hope it’s Xbox too, so that we can finally see what all the hubub is about.
Only reason I can see it wouldn’t get ported is if there is a contract in place that would prevent it. If there is one, it would be for console exclusivity (hence impacting both Xbox and Switch 2) not explicitly blocking Xbox.
Oh boy, the sound mixing is quite bad in Space Marine 2. It all sounds so distant, when I walk around, when slashing enemies, it’s weak, tinny almost. Many other games sound so much better, hell even demos of these indie games.
I googled it, and yep, many have noticed this and that was back in September. Seems not very hopeful a fix will come.
