If Interstellar taught me anything, it’s that the passage of time on one planet can be different than the passage of time on another. So similarly to when you travel close to the speed of light, one hour for one person can be 50 hours for another.
Now, is that kind of gravitational time dilation an invention of that movie, or something that occurs in the real world? Couldn’t tell you. I’ve just assumed that that’s how it works in Starfield based on the prompt on how how much time will pass on UT vs wherever you are.
I don’t think it works that way in Starfield, everything seems to be running at the same UT time. With the planets time being more how long in UT it takes that planet to do a full rotation/day night cycle, with us experiencing the full time.
I’m not a Greg Miller or KindaFunny guy at all and haven’t been since Colin left but even then and now, Tim Gettys comes across like a massive PlayStation fanboy who doesn’t know shit about anything to where a nobody like me knows more. SMH.
Honestly I’ve always done driver updates myself even with the previous Geforce experience, always gave me a better experience in game. Seems like the new app makes it even worse!
I’m loathe to give those guys any clicks, so here’s a quote of what he said:
I think that Game Pass is one of the most potentially destructive things to ever happen in video games. One of the best deals for the consumers for sure, but in terms of like what it has done to the business and what it can do and what it is doing.
And after that they go on to discuss how Xbox games can be played everywhere now, they even list off products and devices like Amazon Fire Stick and Samsung TVs, and that Xbox are in the midst of redefining the rules, etc, etc. All stuff we all know.
And I’ve gotta think if I’m Phil Spencer or anyone at Xbox and I hear fanboys like Tim spew all that fear mongering, not only will I take it as confirmation that what I’m doing is working, but I’ll also thank them for explaining to their listeners what makes Xbox awesome right now. And that yes indeed, they can continue to enjoy their PlayStations but also be Game Pass customers and get in on “one of the best deals for consumers.”
Thanks for posting that clip. It was a handy reminder of why I stopped listening to that show. What a bunch of toolbags.
Truly a hot take. I think it was a good discussion and Blessing seems to get when he says he thinks this is the right decision for Xbox and he thinks it will result in them being in the top of all in the future.
yes, on their website you have the option to download the app or just the standalone driver. the only ‘‘issue’’ is that you need to go download the new version and update it manually every time as you don’t get notifications of new available driver updates as you would with the app.
Thanks for the heads up - luckily I already had the setting off as my XSX is on the HDR port (Windows still sucks at HDR in comparison) and I can’t stand additional overlays etc.
It’s something that’s stuck with me from gaming on PC in the 90s / 00s lol, teasing out the last bit of performance by having Windows XP running in ugly mode, startup and background apps to a minimum / closed and every setting optimised to an inch of its life…
It was a mad time in gaming overall, everything new and 3D or large scale, PlayStation and Xbox too pushed to their absolute limits to achieve greatness…
I like the podcast overall, but Tim truly drags them down in my opinion. Blessing and Greg have their moments from time to time, but they do actually engage with the Xbox ecosystem and are generally better at discussing it, whereas you can tell Tim likely doesn’t at all.
Tim is a Nintendo guy and most of this guys are old school. What Xbox is doing is disrupting the industry which can be pretty unsettling for some especially when that disruption takes root and becomes the norm. Companies like Nintendo might wither away if Xbox’s disruption becomes the norm so I can understand why he sees Game Pass has the most destructive thing in gaming. In a sense he could be right as Game Pass threatens to destroy the norms that guys like him hold dear.
Don’t get you hopes up. Indiana Jones is a great game. But this has nothing to do with nominations at Geoffs advertisement channel.
I think that Game Pass is one of the most potentially destructive things to ever happen in video games. One of the best deals for the consumers for sure, but in terms of like what it has done to the business and what it can do and what it is doing.
Oh noes, its not the rising dev costs (budgets, loans) or the free 2 play games with their dominating market share which are the most destructive things, its the thing that gave independent devs billions of dollars to finance their games. Sure.
Here is my hot take: social media is on of the most destructive things to mankind because it gave the dumbest mfs a voice. They only talk, never think. Smh.
