Seems like it improves on the Horizon idea.

Looks like they threw a bunch of games in an AI blender and this is what it produced.

Technically Iā€™m not sure PlayStation can copyright robot dinosaurs - theyā€™ve been a thing since at least the 80s (DinoBots in Transformers for one, then the Zords in Power Rangers in the 90s etc) so imagine this game will be fine as long as itā€™s not completely ripping off all the gameplay too - the red-headed female archer is a bit on the nose though lol

So basically Tencent makes a Horizon Online before Sony does? Werenā€™t the plans for Horizon Online canceled anyway or am I thinking of a different game?

Itā€™s ripping of the general look/art style, the design of the machine creatures, and even some of the rides shown and how they behave. The one thing it doesnā€™t rip off is the bow-cnetric combat, which could still be there just not shown yet lol

Pennyā€™s Big Breakaway for $18ā€¦ I heard good things and looks cool but I donā€™t like 3d Sonic which it seems inspired by. Iā€™m tempted but not sure :eyes:

Insider Gaming repeated a profoundly unreliable rumor that AC Shadows is playtesting terrible and then retracted it as BS.

They coupled this with a benign statement from the dev that they have a lot of junior folks on the team just due to everything going on in the industry. This was done in a really ragebaity way.

In general, small publication tried to SEObait a game thats ā€œcontroversialā€ and got caught. Remains to be seen if it will become a pattern.

Wow the first patch is massive ! It is fixing a LOT of issues the community had mentioned. They are quite fast to respond considering their cities are still being bombed and they lose power.

Edit : they fixed the economy so itā€™s not like paying taxes anymore, retuned spawns, damages and HP from enemies, weapons and gear wear and even managed to get a fix for the deadzones. They must have been working around the clock on these fixes. Good on them, they overdelivered !

Edit 2 : forgot to mention Itā€™s coming later today on Xbox too.

UE5 open world game made during war, just looking at those variables and I think that they made a functioning game is impressive in itself. The fact that it got dunked on and not given a pass by some reviews for technical issues when last year they gave a certain game perfect 10s while some parts of it were broken and its console versions are still unoptimizedā€¦

I was listening to a french VG media/ Twitch/youtube channel I discovered recently called Origami that I recommend to french listeners. One of their host reviewed STALKER 2 being completely new to the series and he did an excellent job describing the game as radical in its design decisions, just like the old games, and that it is a massive, stunning and beautiful but demanding game that also misses the mark on a couple key points that were the template of the series. But while he aknowledged those problems and all the bugs he said that it was still the best experience he had this year and recommended to wait a few months, but that is was still a game you donā€™t want to miss.

I had a lot of problems with bugs and glitches since the 20-25 hours mark that I hope will get fixed (in this patch or the next one) but I couldnā€™t put the controller down. It is that good. Itā€™s so painful sometimes but still so engrossing.

Oh, yeah, I had a blast with plenty of buggy games, and I can also respect people heavily criticizing games for being buggy, IF theyā€™re consistent with it, Iā€™m just not sure when it matters and when it doesnā€™t to reviewers and the general perception, you know? Plenty of buggy games that got 9s and 10s and no mention of their technical state in the conversation :person_shrugging:

To me it depends on if the cinematic actually happens in game as cutscenes or are just out of game content. Because a lot og games have cutscenes for story purposes, but I will admit that some in game

Yeah, itā€™s pretty accurate. Itā€™s like perfume or car ads, itā€™s about selling you a feeling, a mood or an atmosphere and not about the product itself which can be hard to describe or quite banal.

So the Horizon clone is coming to PS5 as well, not Xbox. Personally Iā€™m likeā€¦ah well.

That being said, i hope they have a good reason that they skip Xbox, such as small team or whatever, otherwise it shouldnā€™t skip it. Wonā€™t lose any sleep over it though.
