I just had to unsubscribe from an RPG channel I used to love because he posted some ridiculous garbage with a premise along the lines of āAvowed price is turning away fans and tarnishing Obsidianās nameāā¦. We really are in the most braindead of timelines. What price? The price for the completely option Special Edition thatās about 60 bucks cheaper than most that came out this year? The price for a GP sub or the game, which is standard price? Just plain idiocy at this point.
One of the those stupid popular streamers around Hellblade 2 said (paraphrasing) āthis game is too short for a AAA game, and yeah itās not full price, but still.ā Completely disregarding the fact that it was NOT a AAA game, it was never advertised as a long game, and itās a GP release. Never mind that this length/price assessment hasnāt happened to some other games that were the full $70.
Being an Xbox player whoās aware of stuff, and reading or watching steamers covering it and stating their fact-less opinions is an exhausting exercise in holding it together and not losing your mind over just blatant fabrications being made that are easily disputable.
Not having Like a Dragon : Infinite Wealth in the GOTY category is a disgrace. Not interested in the TGAās anymore.
First year Iāll probably donāt watch live. Itās better to catch up with the trailers and annoucements the day after.
Where is Space Marine 2 ??? Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden ? Case of the Golden Idol ? DOOM 1+2 ? Nobody Wants to Die ? Hellblade 2 ? Palworld ? Harold Halibut ? Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth ? Braid ? Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes ??
They are cattering to only 10% of their audience and they donāt think thereās a problem right here. It feels completely skewed toward the PlayStation platform this year it is shocking.
I canāt think of a Nintendo game as a GOTY contender but Iām sure thereās one that should be on this list.
What a joke.
āWhatās an Xbox ?ā
I feel like that ad campaign was on point.
Welp, Iām going to blame @Mort for his damn backlog challenge (not really), but my PS3 Slim has officially died. Outlasted by the Wii and my Slim 360, which were bought prior, but 13 years is a decent run. Better yet, Iām pretty sure I can fix it by replacing the psu - been fixing/tinkering with as much hardware as software over the last year - and Sony made this thing pretty damn easy to replace components like that.
The only hard part is getting the right PSU since they had so many variants
Either way, my run of Folklore is going to have to wait
Yep, shook my head when I saw it missed out.
Those are Xbox games, silly.
Iām thinking of getting a modded PS3 and hoard a decent library on it especially of its exclusives. One thing thatās stopping me is legitimately the controller, I donāt think I can get back to that monstrosity.
There is now a PS3 emulator thatās pretty mature, and as long as you have a mid-low to mid machine it will run everything at full speed. That way you can use the Xbox controller lol. For your backups obviously
I too hate the Sixaxis controller
I am not sure I can depend on PS3 emulation just yet, donāt get me wrong itās an absolutely impressive feat to emulate that hardware and I know many many games are playable fully on it, but I think for now itās still not on the level of Dolphin, PCSX2 (only recently) and Duckstation where I can legitimately trust it without much tinkering. With how much progress it made, Iām sure it will reach that state in the coming years!
Itās gonna be interesting times when we get to the point that Xbox games are day and date for other platforms. What will Geoffy do then? Lol.
I am pretty sure DOOM is a more anticipated and bigger IP than Metroid and DS, but whatever man, who even cares anymore
The issue is that the folk voting for the most anticipated games are journos. They want to know what DS2 is, but already know what Doom will be, and it will be a fucking banger.
The fact that we have enough announced games coming actually next year from Xbox Studios to fucking fill that section (Avowed, Towerborne, Doom, Fable, South of Midnight) whilst 100% of Sony announced games fill just 40% of the entire list, we should take solace in that.
This is always welcome
Iām catching up to the Xbox two podcast from today. Jez let slip that he saw some alpha footage of Fable. He said it looked āfantasticā. Combat looks great. Cd Projekt DNA from what he felt. Tone, writing were good. Violent with sword going through a guy.
