Yeah, but is it ADIDAS paying Minecraft or the other way around is my question ?

I’m not a mod, but I am putting my foot down on this discussion. I am the sole arbiter on this thread. You’ d better toe the line, otherwise you will look a bit of a heel.

Why not both? They do have a Minecraft shoe collection as well.

It was a tech demo to showcase what the engine is now capable of not the platform. It was nothing more than marketing. The thing at the end of the day would be can the platform run it which I doubt. This is just like unreal 5 reveal on PS5 and we all know how that turned out.

Remember this.

Just did a couple of solo runs for ER: Neighreign as I try to learn the game.

Since the last update the fps/frametimes feel much better, as I didn’t feel mysrlf gett7ng a headache. Since FromSoftware generally just optimizes enough to run a little better. My guesses is that either playing solo puts less stress on the game, not playing online or this update fixed a bug with VRR.

Either way, I played as the mage and I find that magic users are kind of obtuse to play. Because the rules to restore FP from magic, means every couple if attacks I have to use the mages first skill. But if I kill something, I can’t use the skill to restore FP.

Which if I use a staff with a powerful magic attack, puts me in a cycle of: attack, restore, attack, restore, attack, restore, attack, sencond skills attack activates, restore, attack.

The big axe barbarian though is much easier to play, and I managed to make it to the 2nd night boss fight in a bit of a panic because I got beat several times by red wolf and Albunaric archers bosses.

This 100%. I’m expecting a downgrade and no way in hell is The Witcher 4 releasing in 2027 so im also expecting a delay.

Well can’t wait to see what The Coalition does with Unreal Engine 5, we’ll probably see that on Sunday, as for Witcher 4, I like how the art style doesn’t seem to have changed much from Witcher 3, it looks amazing but it’s just a tech demo, one that looks believable but not sure the full game would look as good while running at 60FPS on consoles, I hope it does though, I’ll take Witcher 4 looking that good at 1080P if it runs smooth, I don’t really care about the game having the best visuals, I thought Witcher 3 Series X enhanced looked incredible and I would take a Witcher 4 that looks just a little better while maintaining a stable 60FPS.

I feel the same way about the GTA6 reveal, running on a PS5.

There are a few ways in which these demos look a bit better than the final version despite using in game assets and truly running game code.

And this has to do with pretty much every game on the market. I feel the same way about all big releases. Including games like Fable from Playground Games.

Resolution, and how it achieves it, being one. Superior texture filtering being another. Texture quality. Stability in framerate being a huge one where each scene can be highly optimized for a trailer, but not necessarily in-game (Rockstar, like Bethesda, allow the world to continue its simulation even while cutscenes play). Quality of post-processing effects like motion-blur, DoF, and bloom. Quality of shadows, GI, and general lighting.

People may wonder how all of these extras could be added considering it could be running on release or dev hardware…it boils down to turning off certain simulations (physics and NPC AI), baking some simulations into an animation, not having to worry about streaming in data for certain gameplay scenes where they would during the finished product in actual gameplay.

At the end of the day, the end product is 90% of the way there so I really don’t mind. These trailers are meant to sell the game and as long as they aren’t misleading, people don’t mind.

This Witcher tech demo sort of touches on all that. They’re just trying to show what they’re going for in terms of tech.

Nanite support for foliage was a long time coming and Epic seemed to understand the assignment and go for a solution that many were coming up with themselves.

The focus on performance is big and means a lot to Xbox fans, as the new Gears can be expected to run at 60fps without any major resolution sacrifices. Same with the new Halo. I don’t know if they’ll consider it, but Team Ninja could perhaps see if their game could be upgraded to 5.6 and perhaps see some performance improvements. Same with Avowed. When it comes to games like that which feature a lot of bespoke features and additions to the game engine, such efforts become gargantuan and may not be worth it.

ResetEra was mental when that came out. ‘Revolution’ etc etc etc.

Here we are playing the same games 5 years later, on multiple platforms, not just PS5. Hurrah. Vive la hype cycle.

I just find it funny that none of them are putting over PS5 Pro. I mean the selling point is power, so being impressed by base version, why would I need to get the upgrade?

Don’t you remember them saying this was only possible on PS5 due to the SSD (flight scene at the end) and then later on having others showcase it running on a laptop with an HDD I think (or it was a sata SSD) and people coping, and today we know this was all BS anyway.

Tech demos are nice, but that’s all they are, tech demos.

Many who made that claim seemed to catch a case of amnesia when its brought up these days. Good times!

Hopefully IO Interactive shows actual gameplay of 007. I’m super curious what it’s going to be like and what it will look like.

I just hope it doesn’t feel like a Hitman reskin, Hitman is great but I don’t want 007 to feel the same as that.

Same. Every game should be its own identity.

PS5’s magic SSD allowing games that weren’t possible on Series X or PC was the funniest hardware claim since the Xbox One’s second GPU hiding in the power brick.

It would be funny if because we need to earn the name 007, we have to bring in all targets alive.

So sneak in and out with the target without killing anyone along the way.

The footage kinda already showed it, but it being Nintendo and that they can be doing anything with the world since it’s Mario…this is a big bummer. Why make it open world?

Maybe visually it could have been a much larger jump had it been like MK8 in that way.
