gdc could be exciting but all these talks are behind a paywall. hopefully Xbox uploads their stuff afterwards like they did it the last couple years.
GTA 6 is already 95+ on metacritic guaranteed no matter whether itās polished to a shine or buggy, weāve seen time and time again that bugs donāt affect scores.
Theyāre finally gonna reveal Super Resolution? Iāve been hearing about it since around the Series X
Potentially, but GTA Trilogy got hammered on the media (and so on MetaCritic too) and by users - I think itāll have spooked them enough to ensure GTA6 isnāt a buggy mess.
However Iāve no doubt itāll be met by an enthusiastic media as the new āgame all others are judged againstā, āa new standard for gamingā and āthe most immersive game everā even if itās just a bigger and prettier GTA5ā¦
Unless the gameplay is significantly better in GTAVI Iāll continue to file the series alongside PlayStation, Final Fantasy and Greggs as āgreat things that nevertheless get ridiculous amounts of free passes because 30 year old men loved them aged 7 and never got over itā.
GTAās gameplay is not bad. Far from it. But Jesus Christ is it behind other games imo, and utterly undeserving of the praise that, say, the gamesā world building gets.
I think they will reveal the generic API part (of Super Resolution) so that a game has not to include DLSS functions directly but only has to use DirectX calls and SR will work on any PC card with special hardware like NVidia or Intel. I donāt expect to see a AI Super Resolution implementation from Microsoft or Xbox for PC or Series X.
The coffee chain? Iām not from the UK so Iāve no nostalgic feelings towards them, but I visited one for the first time in 2022 and I have no real complaints. I found it no better or worse than other chain coffee shops like Starbucks or Tim Hortons - a Canadian coffee chain.
Itās all the same as far as Iām concerned: pleasant enough stores that serve decent coffee with decent baked goods.
Was Greggās radically better at some point?
Calling Greggs a coffee chain is blasphemy in the UK.
Yup, this is exactly what it is
Dank level 9999
Tim Hortons USED to be good before they got huge. They havenāt even made their own donuts any more since like 2010 or so. I remember them being great when I was little.
Personally I would say yes.
The branches I preferred visiting were technically āBakers Ovensā which were owned by Greggs from 1994.
When Greggs rebranded them all to simply āGreggsā in 2008 is when I personally noticed the quality starting to depreciate.
Many of the fan favourites like the Sausage and Bean Melt (Baked Beans are a favourite in the UK) started tasting different (in a bad way). This also included the Steak Bake where the quality of the meat completely went downhill.
As part of the 2008 re-branding it felt like they also implemented new processes and cost cutting measures but it was never the same for me.
For a long time I used to buy my bread from Bakers Oven / Greggs but even that was ruined too. I rarely visit a Greggs these days.
Jesus man, it just doesnāt stop. This year itās extremely bad.
Nah, itās always been how it is to my knowledge [edit: Hue above gives more insight], and it does a great job at it. Like I said, all those things I listed are great, but thatās not the same thing as saying theyāre always great, or uniformly great. GTA is superb in so many areas that the gameplay, which I think is overly restrictive and overly clunky gets caught up in the general praise.
Greggs was a bit of a jokey addition.

Square gonna square.
