That’s true, but it’s the first show of the year and we had rumours about the “true Playstation showcase” by some credible insiders.
Think a lot of people thought this would be it even though it’s just a State of Play.

To me it was a high tier State of Play… Which also doesn’t mean too much. Still bargain bin Nintendo Direct territory. Missing that “wow” factor. Again I thought the show was good but I’d still put it on the level of a Pre-Switch Nintendo Direct or something (when they weren’t really big events).
When they said that I was thinking a different take on Metal Gear, they’ve finally peaked my interest!
Then he said “It’ll be a game but also a movie at the same time.” which immediately killed my interest.
They are already too movie like, anymore and it will just be pressing X or O every 20 minutes.

I guess we’re using two very different terms for “banger” here then. I’m not considering every Call of Duty, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV a banger just because they sold well.
And its fine for people to dislike some of the games shown off, but I find it very weird that we got a very broad selection of genres at a State of Play of all things and people are somehow upset about it.
I was just retorting to a smartass comment when I was referring to “bangers”. Nothing more, nothing less.

It was a good SoP I thought. Lots of games and some good looking stuff.
My general issue is losing interest in gaming as a whole…

This becomes the problem of relying on insider sources though.
I just feel its unfair or harsh to be getting upset over a stellar State of Play just because it didn’t reach showcase heights.
That’d be like getting mad at Xbox for not shadow dropping something at the Developer_Direct or that the surprise game (Visions of Mana) wasn’t first party even though there were insiders/rumors stating otherwise.

I thought the State of Play was pretty good although there wasn’t much there for me besides Judas.
I’m not a fan of Bioshock 1 and 2, but Infinite was a fun ride. I’ll give Judas a shot. It’s a real shame though that all of the PS fans who can’t play first person games without getting motion sickness will miss out.
That Death Stranding 2 trailer was so wildly perplexing and strange as someone who didn’t play the first game. There was so much there from the puppet to the extra set of hands to the guitar that I actually got annoyed lol.
Hulst and Kojima seemed to be suggesting that the new IP game will be reminiscent of Metal Gear, but also a movie? So I guess it will be a fusion between Metal Gear and Quantum Break? Isn’t that just Metal Gear Solid 4 with live action cutscenes, lol?
Finally, there weren’t enough dates or even years shown. Everything seemed to be “in development for ps5”.

At this point can I just have the PS2 version of SH2 released on the PS store. I held out hope that perhaps bloober would get some assistance or something and maybe this would finally be where they break through. But, from what was shown, that isnt the case.
The new stealth/action Kojima thing is after DS so if it’s on PS5 is gonna be a very end of PS5 life release, certainly after PS6 launches
