Thanks. It’s nice, really nice. It still feels surreal, finally having Fiber for a little over a year now. Cost wise it’s less than what I was paying before for under half the bandwidth.
For the past 15+ years I was at the mercy of a single cable internet provider. They used to be good but the past 8 years have been miserable.
I basically only have Spectrum where I am at. I get about 1.2Gb down but only 40Mb up. Apparently, they are rolling out high split which is supposed to allow symmetrical speeds and plans up to 5Gb. Right now it is limited to new customers as a test.
Here in the UK my property only got FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) at the end of 2022 so it was also a night and day difference.
In the past if a game had a big update just before I was about to play it was a case of turning it off and watching a film instead. Now it’s done in literally a few seconds.
910Mbps is the fastest package I can get and it’s no more expensive than before. There is one more provider in the UK that does 1145Mbps but it’s significantly more expensive and not available in my area.
I have a controller whose sticks were laggy and barely functional in the in the left-right directions, the recalibration tool has mostly fixed that now.
The problem with setting YouTube quality in the app during a video to 2160p is that if a video doesn’t offer this resolution it will give me some low crappy resolution. It’s an issue that wasn’t always there, man it’s annoying.
The only rumor was from last week where the insiders were all saying there will be one this week. They usually announce them 1 day in advance and never have them on Fridays so it’s looking a bit unlikely. There is still a chance they simply post a small partner Direct tomorrow directly to their Youtube (no announcement, no stream) as they’ve done that before though.
Grubb apparently said something like they may have backed off from doing it because Xbox will absorb all the news tomorrow. Doesn’t sound likely to me.
This year is becoming insider’s nightmare. By nightmare I mean get it wrong so they have to swap around with a shield. I can be like “Nintendo Direct is happening this week as long as everything goes accordingly and not delayed.”
Disco Elysium is pretty interesting. When you start off its hard to keep track of everything. Now Im seeing a wab of lies with all the characters in this game. its a slow burn but worth checking out
Honestly I think it is true because Nintendo is know for swapping announcements last minute and even release dates are never set in stone. Games sometimes are ready to launch and kept hostage for the right moment. So information in one week can be totally different in the next week.
