XboxEra Community Hangout |OT12| The Dirty Dozen

Two features that have been in there and they just take it out. Wow.

Yep I’m hoping this legal case succeeds as otherwise it could set a bad precedent for the rest of the industry:

For the Crunchyroll users here. What do I pick?

I can’t change it after I make my choice.

I can’t see a reason I wouldn’t combine but up to you. It’s just list and watch history. Either combone or choose the more accurate one

Yeah I have never really used Funimation because it seemed majority is dubbed and I hate dubs with a passion, lol. Or do they have subbed stuff too that CR doesn’t have?

I think there were some shows that Funimation had that CR didn’t, guess CR has it all now though. Can’t think of an example off hand though.

Actually, they still didn’t migrate all of the shows from Funimation, but it will soon be lost in media (in a sense).

I heard the best joke today, just now.

Amazing Lucas was ā€œmakingā€ his own Spider ā€œmanā€ game. He was asking 25,000 dollars for it via crowd funding. He received 9,029 with 75 backers. It was canceled end of January. Surprising that he received that kind of money to begin with. Then again, his fans aren’t the smartest, so…

Oh and then he went off during SoP that Kojima manages to get millions for his games and nobody is willing to give him enough for his game. This man is such an embarrassment.

YouTube is being annoying, TV app and Xbox app.

So I have quality set to auto, it should go to max then, especially with a 500mbits connection, easily doable. My TV is connected via wired, not WiFi. Yet it defaults to 720p/60fps, but then I check available options and the highest is 2160p/60fps.

Why does it default to such a low resolution when I choose auto?

I’ve been playing my Steam Deck more these days and trying out a bunch of demos. If you’re a big Tombi/Tomba fan you should definitely check out DoubleShake demo. Takes a lot of inspiration from it and adds its own twist.

Also, Ultros demo is a pretty cool Metroidvania with some insane art that is totally my jam!

My Samsung in the living room keeps doing this. In fact many times the first video I watch will be set at under 720p! When I went to watch XboxEra at the weekend it was 320p :astonished:.

When I go in and change it to 2160p it will stay there and any subsequent videos do too. Until I turn the TV off/on and open YouTube again.

It’s a wired 910Mbps connection so there is no reason it should be doing it.

For Youtube, ā€œAutoā€ doesn’t mean best. Bandwidth costs are why Youtube tries to keep quality levels as low as possible. Most people don’t even notice quality anyway, so they capitalize on that.

It’s freaking YouTube.

I see this odd defaulting to lowest-tier bitrate like 300p on my PC, android tablets, rokus, and ChromeCast with GoogleTV. Once a session I need to manually select the data-rate to be the best. This happens via wired ethernet and wireless – 10 Gigabit, 2.5 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit wired and Wifi 6 and Wifi 5. My internet is 2 Gigabit FIBER that consistently pulls down 2.2 Gigabit+.

Here’s the speed monitoring of my network. Easy to see the consistently high bandwidth available. The only blips over the entire last month were when firmware updates were pushed or the destination server was down.

I thought it was just me until both you and @Staffy mentioned it.

Also I’m very jealous of your broadband speeds .
