I’m liking what I am reading here. The term "Immersive sim " shows up too which is exactly what I wanted. Sounds like they’re taking what worked about the old game and updating it!
To this day, I still don’t know what was that about with the last game. The tone was like ahead of its time in terms of “pleasing gen z” talk.
I always try to sing the praises of PD ( the N64 version in particular) for how ahead of the curve it was for a FPS made for console. I was somewhat worried that they’d try to make it too linear and cinematic , which doesn’t seem to be the case. I don’t know how much they will lean into immersive sim elements but the fact that there are going to be multiple ways to take on a mission is definitely in the spirit of the original.
I just hope they’re able to nail everything and give us a game worthy of the PD name!
After seeing that Phil interview on IGN live I’m feeling even more confident about my investment in the Xbox ecosystem now. Looks like their strategy is paying off and engagement is up plus their commitment to future hardware seems stronger than ever.
I’ve been eyeing the ROG Ally but I now think I’ll wait for the Xbox Handheld to be honest, seems like it’s definitely coming!
Technology is amazing! These days you can even hear salty fanboys kicking rocks and trying not to cry through the internet.
Seriously though the trailers and such are great, I missed the show, but really enjoyed catching up after. But it’s also funny watching people with obvious post histories trying to play the concerned fan.
I loaded up Diablo IV strictly and solely to claim my free pet and left with a new Barbarian level 20 character. That was not my intention.

Well, here’s how my fall is shaping up!
That’s pretty good. Here’s my 16 game/expansion second half lineup as of now -
what is happening tomorrow?
There will be a Xbox Podcast episode for a deep dive on Avowed.
I don’t think they are sticking to that date since Assassin’s Creed Shadows releases within 3 days from it.
They deleted that date, so it’s probably not locked. Or they will confirm it during gameplay showcase.
So today we get extra Avowed gameplay during Xbox Podcast, tomorrow MGS3, I wonder what they got for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Indiana maybe?
Oh wow, its all week?
I did understand it would, but I can’t find the info for the other days just yet.
Awesome. I guess that’s why they wouldn’t do it at showcase but gave them Life is Strange, which is actually like call back tradition since 2018.
