Not at all, the entire reason they added third-person as an add-on was because of OG fans like you and I that just can’t get behind the massive switch to first-person. For those that like 7 and 8 in FP, all power to you but I think a lot of the atmosphere and game-flow is hampered by it. I still haven’t beaten either one… and to be in the same camp as 6, in my book, isn’t a good thing.

…s that will always be in the service so in essence they are the pillars of the service and in the end the selling point of it all. GP right now has some really great 1st party games in there: from AAA juggernauts like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 to smaller and quirkier games like Psychonauts 2, Hi-Fi Rush and Ori And the Will of the Wisps (plus the various EA Play games if you want to add some 3rd party pepper in there). Show that along with the latest 1st and 3rd party additions you also have a lot more games in there with a wide variety that can please almost everyone…the great 1st party portfolio of Xbox and it’s beautiful variety should be a selling point even if a game is 3-4 years old. I am not a marketing expert in any way but does that make sense to anyone else or I am crazy?

It’ll almost certainly be that they don’t want Gamepass to be synonymous with old games. That’s why it’s a big deal to get day one releases. Video games in general is all about pre release hype because people’s keenness dies off really quickly, and with it sales.

The other problem with older games is that as well as making the service seem less vital and exciting, it’s that games get cheaper as they get older, and Microsoft want to push the value aspect too. Gamepass at $17 a month feels less of a deal if you’re using it to play Halo 5 and Gears 3 - you could buy both of them forever on disc for that, etc.

That’s not to say that I don’t think that an ad promoting a new game AND it’s prequels would be a bad idea.

I even liked the characters. Survival horror isn’t really my jam but a huge-budget, totally over the top action TPS with a long-ass 25 hour campaign? RE6 was TLOU2 before TLOU2.

Even better than that mechanically. I often thought RE6 would have been much better received if it were either a spin off or a new IP altogether. It was almost like a "character action " game but with guns.
