Me too! I’m excited actually for the gameplay reveal. And I think by going with the Yasuke story they could actually have a very interesting story, compared to if it had not been. If people are so dead set on only having a true Japanese dude in a game they should wait for Ghost 2.

He’s also in quite a few manga (afro Samurai was also said to be inspired by him), and japanese historical dramas. ( played by Black actors) Japanese people for the most part ( I’m sure there are exceptions) just see him as a part of that history and that’s all there is to it. Only ones you see making a big deal about it are angry weebs.

This is the key for Xbox, in my opinion. Based on that poll, 30% of people who don’t already play on Xbox or PC would switch. That would be a massive number! (Although I don’t expect this to be realistic. I don’t know who CharlieIntel is or who his demographic is.)

If this is even close to representative of the mindset right now, then COD on Game Pass could be a big, big draw for Xbox when their next gen hardware launches. Combined with a potential hardware shakeup of what we consider “consoles” and a rumoured launch 1-2 years before the PS6, I am very curious to see how this might play out.

I believe it’s the official CoD account.

Not official, but a leaker/ news site for call of duty

If it wasn’t for Yasuke, I wouldn’t be as hyped as I am to play Shadows so no complaints here. lol

It’s weird because I thought a while back it was official. It has a yellow check mark. Not sure I should blame Elon on that one, but yeah, I can see why some would think that.

Id like to see some console footage of this. pretty sure all footage has been from pc

Decided to finally check out the next gen patch for Witcher 3 and then finally start with Blood and Wine.

First I’m playing the brand new quest and man, it’s just so good. It’s just a simple side quest in a new cave area, but the story told is just what you expect…quality. The brand new camera is awesome, much more immersive and it’s clean and crisp as can be. It used to have aliasing in several areas.

Love reading through the bestiary too to learn about what makes these monsters tick. God this game is just so good. Bring on Witcher 1 remake and 4, goddamn!

Try the RT mode. It’s 30 FPS but it changed the interiors’ atmosphere quite a bit. 60 FPS performance mode is still the way to go, but lighting suffers in comparison.

I love that we have all these different modes to play in games now, whether you’re in the mood for contemplation or action.

Oh man it’s gonna be hard to go back to 30fps after how lovely smooth it all is now. But tomorrow I’ll check it out, just to see it. It’s mostly with interiors?

Maybe by the time the next generation comes they can update the game again with a 60fps RT mode.

I mean, this game probably keeps seeking a bit every year considering its legendary status that it’d be worth for the dev.

Oh for sure. It’s such an amazing game, easily one of my favorites. These are the kind of moments where I wish I was into PC gaming, because when with enough money I could build one that runs this game at max, no compromises.

Once next gen rolls around and Witcher 4 comes, with console there are going to be compromises. We will absolutely be looking at different graphics modes again while PC has it all, if you have upgraded of course. The tinkering and not exactly the being exactly plug and play like consoles is what keeps me away.

The costs to play stuff at the very best is extortionate in PC land too - about £2,000 a year on average I figured out when running the numbers recently, if you wish to buy a top end graphics card one year, a new CPU/motherboard/RAM the next, then the next cards are out so the next year a new one, etc. once you include the cost of new faster storage after some upgrades - and that’s assuming you still use the same TV as you do with a console.

If you don’t and you want a panel that can to 144FPS or even higher, then it’s easily £5k every couple of years.

Even being conservative, high end PC gaming is £5k per 5 years, in reality closer to £10k - my brother spends so much of his income keeping up but I can’t be bothered, console gaming is just so much better value!

Holy cow.

It’s interesting to see how some PC gamers would like you to believe how going PC gaming is way better overall, but overall means value too. It sounds like that ain’t it.

I remember in the days of Rainbow Six Rogue Spear and Raven Shield I had bought the best Radeon card at the time and all the other components were top notch too, yet the game was a stuttering mess. This while I was reading on forums how super smooth it was for people with other cards. And if I recall correctly I fully quit pc gaming once I saw Riddick on the first Xbox.

I just want plug and play. And it’s great that some console games offer a very nice amount of options such as Starfield now and I can only applaud that.

For PC I love stuff like the insane amounts of mods that can transform a game like Skyrim into something else, I love how you can have the very best looking games because of all the available settings and at the same time the last part is not for me. No tinkering with settings for me, lol.

Yep I like 4K gaming / as close to it as possible, but to get that on a PC that isn’t top line requires so much tinkering it’s just a pain - I remember changing foliage settings, shadows, frame rate, resolution, texture stuff etc. for Witcher 3 for example.

Now, the Witcher 3 XSX version easily beats what I was able to achieve on a much more expensive PC without me having to play with settings.

Also yep some of the issues you describe I’ve had too - specs that should be easily able to cope, having issues due to things like antivirus, driver clashes or badly-designed DRM systems.

If I won the lottery and worked less, I’d probably get back into PC gaming as yeah the mods are great and the RTX 5090 that’s coming end of this year will likely make games look absolutely stunning at 4 or even 8K with great frame rates (guessing DLSS if you wanted to do 8K).

But in this timeline where I don’t have inexhaustible funds or time, I just can’t be arsed lol
