Probably. Square did mention HD titles to be expanded to other platforms, so maybe we will see some older titles like Star Ocean, but we will have to wait and see. As for showcase, it is possible that they will announce FFXVI to make a statement that Square is done isolating the platform.

Good news on the SE front. Going to laugh when the next SE title or two for PC has an exclusivity period with EGS.

People live or used to live in these places, and people collect junk.

Darn that cursive Game Pass.

Sorry but your reasoning sounds opinion based to me. Because stealing had the same consequences no matter who we steal it from.

I also find that peasants have the better items because they would often have more alchemy engredients, which is one of the best ways to make money in the game.

I am not sure what this even means. Everything is opinion-based. The point is if your universe is engaging and believalbe enough it matters who I’m stealing from a peasant or a king. Starfield is different since outposts are hostile or not.

yah dig?

All the ā€œjunkā€ in these RPGS are meant to be make the world feel lived in and not necessarily servena gameplay purpose nor do they need to.

Right but that’s the thing, in my opinion it’s no different to steal from a king than to steal from a child in Skyrim or any other game.

I spend 99.9% of my time avoiding stealing in every game I play, so the only time I do so involves questing, it’s the main mechanic of a game or challenge runs (in Skyrim it could be something like can’t do crafting so I have to steal a stronger weapon). But when I have to it doesn’t change the fact I don’t like it, but I have to do it to progress.

Yeah it’s abundantly clear that the market needs to shift and Xbox caught shit, like they always do, for seeing the big picture and making their move first (just like with the ā€œwe believe in generationsā€ bullshit, and dozens of other examples over the years).

Like I, and Sony’s interim CEO, said previously: when more of those Sony titles start showing up elsewhere, I expect some apologies from the most rabid of folks still here

Costs going up massively while console sales are staying the same at best if not declining

The industry will look very different in the next few years

Yeah, good luck with that.

No, don’t use logic, Daniel, you can’t be doing that. On a serious note, I’ve always said this about Xbox current strategy. It’s going to look real funny for people in a year plus time cuz it’s going to happen quicker than they think

Excellent point. In Starfield there’s lots of situation where the ā€œuselessā€ junk adds a lot of flavour, one of the more obvious examples is zero g environments. Imagine the Deimos transport without all the junk?

Some Starborn powers also interact heavily with your surroundings. For example, when I fire up a gravity well, I’d hate for it to just be one or two objects that gets impacted. I love the chaos it creates with all the little bits and bobs swirling around with the enemies.

Low gravity environments also benefit. Right now I’m on a pugilistic kick, and am clearing out places completely unarmed. The low gravity ones are particularly fun, as when I punch an enemy, they’ll often fly across the room, smashing into desks or shelves, sending stuff flying. Again, much less fun if there were no or fewer bits and bobs.

So, yes, count me in the camp who definitely don’t want to see less interactive junk.

Really? I could not figure that out myself.

I’m talking about gameplay reasons. IF it is a resource hog I fail to see the use of it in this game.

I was finding myself picking everything up to sell until I realised it wasn’t really worth it

I guess part of the question though might be interactive junk vs non-interactive junk.

The non-interactive stuff still reacts to zero-G, it still is visible and can get knocked around etc.

You just can’t interact with it - which is ideal as it stops so much junk accumulating in your inventory.

Not sure though if it being non-interactive or interactive has much impact on resource usage though…

(I am amazed at this forum’s ability to go off on a complete tangent btw - we were on Game Pass tiers and console exclusivity etc. :stuck_out_tongue: Not that I’m complaining, I spend 90% of my conversations off on tangents!)

Yeah I did the same… Was disappointing when I realized it had no use. Just give me a scrapping station or something I can build in my base where I can get parts from junk and I would be happy.

It would be a damn nice surprise if Bioware manages to get Dragon Age out this year, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Probably early 2025 is my guess. But does EA have something for the holiday period?

Reveal should be soon and I hope they really have something good here. It’s a fantastic IP but DAI definitely had plenty shortcomings and their games after that were…
