I hope they donât shit the bed with a COD Tier or something
My bad I thought it started straight after SD2 in 2018. The way itâs worded as âcoming alongâ suggests it still a year or two out.
GamePass Ultimate Ultimate+
âWe didnât lie when we said the whole slate of games are coming to GamePass, we just forgot to mention which tierâ - Xbox (Probably).
Iâd personally expect more of an ad supported tier or the family plan to show up than an Ultimate + tier to be honest. I think if COD is exclusive to a specific Game Pass subscription, then itâll be the Ultimate tier and not something new. Would probably piss of the PC gamers though but it is what it is. Maybe make it available in the other tier a year or 6 months after release .
Yeah, SD2 got a ton of post launch support until they brought on support studios to take over allowing them to focus entirely on SD3.
âI think Tom Warren is reportingâŚâ lol
I wouldnât mind more tiers⌠Thatâs a lot better than a straight price increase.
I can see one in both ends so to speak. An ad-infested cheaper cloud tier for the masochists and a more expensive one with some premium content (like Ubi+).
options are never bad
I donât have an issue with more GP pricing⌠but if Warren were reporting there would be an article about it.
Whatculture Gaming used to be horribly pro-Playstation/anti-Xbox. They have kinda tempered that bias recently, but I havenât watched much from them in the last couple of years.
I reckon they do a full refresh, but Core really fucks with it. Shouldnât be called Core, hereâs my pitch.
Game Pass with Adverts (Game Pass Core but for a small fee, with adverts).
Game Pass Selects (rebranded Game Pass Core) online included and 30 rotating titles.
Game Pass for Xbox / Game Pass for PC. Rebranded exisiting one, but with a price rise.
Game Pass Ultimate (same as it is now, but adds ability to cloud stream games you own) with a price rise.
I think GamePass Family is pretty much halted because of how much additional costs need to be paid out to other devs/publishers to be on it. GamePass Ad-Supported or such makes more sense, but as to how they pull it off, no one has any info yet.
I think MS already has the experience with Netflix, just a matter of expanding that to Xbox.
Right, but how does that translate into games â existing games. Itâs different when itâs injected into a passive stream compared to a live interactive medium like games. How many Ads per hour of gaming? How do you interrupt games to show more ads, especially online games? Thatâs the âhow do they pull it offâ I was thinking about.
If Fallout 5 is on the Creation engine without much change, put them in the loading screens and youâll be earning more than off Ultimate members
(Yes Iâm still bitter, I do hate frequent loading screens at more than is normal lol)
The loading screens were a symptom of how the game is setup. A Skyrim/fallout type game that focuses more in one open world than less in many open worlds will not have as many.
The Creation Engine 2 was nominated for a lot of industry awards due to how damned impressive it is at certain things.
Game Pass as-supported tier, where random in game textures are replaced with ads lol
Could be too or bottom banners or one of the 4 corners in a way that doesnât stop gameplay but plays a video ad on top of what you are seeing. Of course, could be disruptive to some scenes but then again, you are getting it for much cheaper that way.
Would definitely make sense on xcloud with a double ad playing before each gameplay session for example.
A short ad-block as you launch a game would make the most sense.
