I donā€™t know I get this feeling as of late like he could end up as Jimā€™s replacement at Sony PlayStation.

Many of them have deluxe edition upgrades if heā€™s that desperate to.

I noticed not a single XGS or even ABK game in his list which is odd given his pedigree unless heā€™s deliberately trying to use other peopleā€™s games as an example.

Was disappointed when he left Blizzard after the acquisition given heā€™d been MS before that, but given some of the reporting about Blizzard and some of the weird stuff heā€™s come out with since (like this, which sounds like T2ā€™s wet dream) has definitely dulled that feelingā€¦

So Toys for Bob and Microsoft should know It, Crash 5 after Spyro 4.

Exactly. I do agree with the general sentiment he expresses. Iā€™ve even had those exact thoughts myself and have at times bought an earlier game from the same developer for that reason. But then Iā€™m sure thereā€™s lots of different cuts to divvy up first, before the developers see a cent, so a straight-up tipping option is something Iā€™d probably use once in a while.

BUT, only for true indies made by small developers. While I absolutely adore Starfield and at this point consider it my favourite game of all time, no way in hell would I donate any money to Microsoft without something in return.

Planet of Lana on the other hand? Definitely. I think thereā€™s like 10 people or something working at Wishfully, so if I could give them the equivalent of a box of donuts for the break room or something, thatā€™d be cool.

I also think Iā€™m far from alone in this. Thereā€™s a reason Patreon and things like that are successful. But again, it have to be for small creators.

Agree with you both - I notice he named only massive games, not a single indie game.

Instead nearly all are games by massive publishers, many of whom have already nickel-and-dimed every penny they can out of their players.

@Haven may be right, it does seem like heā€™s getting himself ready for a job in a publisher like Sony or maybe even the biggest nickel-and-dimer of the lot, T2ā€¦

I donā€™t really know if Ybarra was considered successful enough in his tenure at Blizzard to warrant getting an upgraded role in a different publisher.

I think he is just running his mouth and saying heā€™d like to contribute to the people making the game without actually thinking about the huge publisher that itā€™d be going through. The sentiment is fine and is something that many would do if they knew it went into a fund that was directly allocated to the team that built the game.

Maybe but he still seems interested in a place in the industry, I just wonā€™t be surprised to see him join Sony seeing most of the games he lists here are all PlayStation games.

If gamers gave more money to publishers, most if not all of that money would be given to those at the top. So, why would I ever willingly do that? As others have said, indies would be different, but it doesnā€™t seem like Mike was talking about them because he probably doesnā€™t care about them in the slightest. People like Ybarra can eat a healthy bowl of shit as far as Iā€™m concerned.

Still donā€™t know the credibility, but here is it to share and discuss.

Considered very reliable

Iā€™d love for it to be true. Especially with Persona 2ā€™s batshit insane story. (which would hopefully be left intact)

Dude this is fucking crazy. Bought Wanted Dead in an impulse and after playing 5 minutes and see how the framerate tanks massively in the first encounter decided to ask MS for a refund. Legit1 minute after sending them the form I received the refund.

Insane to not have a PC release. No clue what Sony is paying Square, but I feel these are self-inflicted wounds in growing the franchise. They need to realize thereā€™s a generation of gamers that doesnā€™t care about that franchise, so it makes no sense to limit audience

That first tweet though. Gotta love that app.

-Say something really fucking stupid

-get called out on it ā€œOh I really triggered people today, lolz!ā€

Hopefully Elmo runs that shit into the ground sooner than later.

Thats not very surprising. Nobody else is doing episodic content for hundreds of millions of dev cost. You will always sell less with every following episode.

Doesnā€™t really help thats not on every plattform on the planet.

Damn, is the framerate that bad?

Yeah, a few weeks ago I bought War Mongrels, it turned out to be bad, just very bad controls wise on console. The refund was exactly as fast as you said. Itā€™s great.

Rand seemed really down on xbox today on xbox two. If the rumnors are true and the next xbox has a handheld/switch type of device and a console and lets u access steam man thats awesome. any game that doesnt come to xbox ill just play on steam. Its could be like a one stop shop for games. I do dought sony would let its steam versions work on the xbox but who knows. The upcomming gen sounds very exciting xbox could be making all the right move but i can see them screwign this up as well because its xbox

TBH I wouldnā€™t give a damn if Sony blocked games from working on Xbox in this scenario as outside of a couple of games I couldnā€™t care less about their first party. Just so long as I would be able to get those games that ship on everything but Xbox because ā€œreasonsā€.
