Saw the Max Payne 3 thread on otherera and I’ll have to say that this thread is another example of how clueless or biased (or maybe they are both) some people are in there, trying to push the narrative that TLoU2 is the best 3rd person shooter BY FAR is getting funny at that point…I guess some there believe that if you say something enough times it might become reality.
The BY FAR point is what it makes all this ridiculous, I can understand someone saying that they prefer TLoU2 but when the 3rd person shooter genre is so varied and has some really fuckin’ high quality games/classics at that point it’s laughable to say that one game is above everything else BY FAR but I guess we all know why this hyperbole happens don’t we?
I guess you have the option to play it as a 3rd person shooter and choose to not go stealthy at all…and that’s why I was saying above that the genre is so varied and it’s dumb to make such a bold statement.
Some games excel on some aspects while other excel in others, for example Max Payne 3, Vanquish and Gears are all top tier and at the same time they are all unique at what they do and how they do it. Also a good 3rd person shooter game isn’t only about the feel of the weapons, there are other aspects that are equally important (like some sane people in that thread pointed out) like pacing, enemy/weapon variety, encounter design, complexity/depth in mechanics (like the weapon/reload cancelling and advanced movement in Vanquish or the wall bounce in Gears) e.t.c. The genre is too rich for one game to be the “king” at this point, it’s all about what we prefer really.
Cyclists died (in their sleep) when EPO was not on the list of banned substances and not detectable by tests. Cyclists (almost) died when their blood transfusions were from the wrong bag. And so on.
PEDs are not only banned because its unethical but because this shit is super dangerous.
This shit starts with young people where they are abused and now nothing about risks. Often the involved ‘doctors’ know nothing about the risks because the used drugs are only tested in medical environments with ill patients. So no, they do not know the risks.
Also. (Deadly) risks for the poor, profits for billionaires like Thiel and Co? Nope
Smaller self-publishing studio balancing project scope and potential player base? Not too different from Hellblade first coming out on PS4 & PC or Palworld only coming out on platforms with early access program.
Eh, feels like SH2 will hinder that if it goes the way it is now. After that and I guess the title you posted even though they said they will look into Xbox later, PS is going to need their own studios to cover them. To the point, Xbox may end up being their hero if the whole rumor of bringing certain games to their platform come true. Not sure if I will be that thrill about it.
I don’t know if it’s still the way to go, but I filled my server up by shucking enclosed hard drives. I want to say it was the WD Element line? Iirc it was a cost effective way to get good drives and they were easy to pop open. You could probably search the term shuck on the Synology subreddit.
