Yeah, it came across as more of a “for now” kinda statement to me. It doesn’t change much or warrant any “news” articles based on that particular angle.
As for 16, wasn’t it Jez that said he believes (or did he say he heard?) it will get announced for Xbox this year? I recall he also implied that SE might just port everything over, well except for the Remake trilogy clearly.
At least we’re getting a Mana game this year.
Not me. Xbox games should never go to PlayStation. Both sides should keep what is theirs and what they paid for.

If Remake and Rebirth are console exclusive to PlayStation, what would even be the point in Xbox getting the third game if they don’t get the first two?
If the first two are exclusive, it wouldn’t make any sense for the third not to be nor would it make any sense to port just one part of three to Xbox.
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t that a mistake by the article writer? And that the trilogy could still come to Xbox?
I’m more than done waiting on it though, soon as I get that PS5 Pro I will start with FF7R and then Rebirth, enough is enough. Just watch the trilogy coming to both Switch 2 and PC and Xbox being the only one who isn’t. So fucking goddamned done with that nonsense. 
I personally don’t think we’ll see FF7 on Xbox. I think we will get the 16 announcement though this year maybe at the showcase as a complete edition for release later in the year.
Will be interesting to see on Square’s future titles though, like Kingdom Hearts IV and the inevitable FF 17. Fingers crossed they hit Xbox.

Hopefully with the seemingly better relationship between Xbox and that new CEO chances will indeed increase.
I’d like to see the older Mana games come to Xbox too, maybe like a collection. If not for Game Pass I’ll buy it.

The game being exclusive or not isn’t doing anything for Sony. Rebirth seems like a forgotten game already and should be available for PC in 3 months. I don’t think Xbox will be pushing for this any way maybe FF16 but I think this will be the last SE exclusive for Sony. As for the exclusive thing I’m sure Xbox isn’t stupid, I have always thought one of the reasons to do this was to try to help Sony from falling and in so doing not make Xbox look like a monopoly.
I’m sure the CEO’s first thing is to get the company out of the Red and bleeding money. The Mana series coming to Xbox would certainly be huge seeing what Game Pass has done for both the Yakuza and Persona games. However, I think what Xbox needs more are it’s own Jrpg games.

Me Personally I would want Xbox to work with SE and greenlight a FF8 or FF10 remake with Xbox funding if we won’t ever get 7.

It sucks for us who would definitely buy and play the trilogy, but you’re right, it’s not doing anything for Sony. It’s not like they took a million seller (on Xbox) from Xbox or anything. Not a ton of people would buy FF games for their Xbox, I’d almost say it’s niche, kinda like many of the Japanese games on Xbox. If they can bring it to PC and I’m sure they will and very likely Switch 2 as well, that will probably be enough. Adding Xbox wouldn’t mean much for sales I’m sure.
But when is it ever gonna come to other systems? After the trilogy is finished? I hope people don’t fool themselves anymore, still believing it will come. FF7R is how old now? Sheesh.
Hopefully there’s some weight to the rumors about 16, I’d buy that. But if not during the summer show, I’ll get that for PS5 as well, no more waiting.
We honestly don’t know. You either keep waiting or make a move. Last I heard about 16 was that it is pretty likely this year and 7, well Jez said there’s talk but since Rebirth was releasing soon, they can’t do anything to “jeopardize” the hype by releasing first one on Xbox. Hard to say, but maybe he will fill in this Friday.
16 would be nice, and I can kinda see it. Personally I’m just over the stringing along when it comes to FF7R, it’s been enough. I do hope with how things are going for SE that Dragon Quest and KH for Xbox are a given. We did get the latest ones of those.
It would be cool if the new DQ would debut at Xbox summer show.
At this point they should just buy Square Enix release everything out now and going forward on everything but PS and keep stringing them along with when things will finally come to their platform. Make them sweat for a change.
Honestly, I have no idea. I just figure that it’s four years since Remake released on PlayStation 4 and almost three years since Intergrade on PlayStation 5 so after all these years, until I see it get announced for Xbox, I simply see it as not coming to Xbox.
