Eh, I really see a lot of downplaying and exaggeration to get ABK through imo. It’s some truth mixed with worst case scenarios, it’s nothing we didn’t already hear similarly from them with the case.

Purely because the vast majority of GP subscribers are on console, you get rid of the console where are those gamers going to go?
PC? Maybe some but the vast majority of the 25m console subscribers will just move to Playstation or somewhere else, giving up on console would mean giving up on the entire market and the idea of that happening with or without ABK seems unlikely
It’s definitely an effective threat though. We would be one Nintendo fuck up away from the entire console market being controlled by one company lol.
Callisto Protocol is insanely good, GameStop has it for $20 for a new copy right now and they are doing a buy one get one on select games. I started playing it last night and I can tell that it must’ve been patched over time because the version I’m playing is rock solid.

It’s a shame that in fidelity speaking, Nintendo held one gen back. It was in line with PS and Xbox until Wii happened.
Reading all the leaks it’s easy to see MS/Phil fucked up with their short-mid terms plans, he did well with the 2018 to 2020 acquisitions, but many of these already had either a multiplatform or PS timed exclusive game in the works, so these were only good moves for the long future.
Some leaks (from 2022?) talk about MS waiting for the end of 2023 to decide if they are working on a next-gen console, honestly if that’s true i can see them stepping down from consoles because the last 18 months have been very weak on that market, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get better next year.
The best thing is that you can tell Phil acknowledges many of the mistakes and he can read what’s happening fairly well, but you can’t compete with Sony without being aggressive, and i don’t see Phil going that way.
I have no clue who was in charge of Xbox during the early X360 days but they played their short-mid terms so well, if only they cared a bit about the long term ones and didn’t become so greedy with the dumb Kinect thing

Microsoft was in the gaming business waaaayyyy before Xbox was a reality and will be when no console exists anymore. I can assure you this.

I’m wondering how hard could they sue over this.
It’s pretty funny and nuts he says this right after Animal Crossing dropped and became one of the best selling games of all time on hardware that’s about to become the best selling console of all time.
I’m not gonna pull the “this shows Phil is Satan” stuff that’s getting said elsewhere though. The very image shows them saying it’s not gonna happen because a hostile takeover is a horrible idea and Nintendo is sitting on enough money to eat several failures in a row.
