Can we talk about for a moment just how good of a value Halo the Master Chief collection is? It was a selling point for me getting an Xbox One in 2014, and it’s been receiving updates for the past 9 years.
My copy of Gears of War 4 came with the entire prior 3 entries via Xbox 360 backwards compatibility along with judgement, that’s an insane value at the time. Now granted it didn’t come with Gears Ultimate edition but at the time you could pick that game up for a decent price.
I might be upgrading my Xbox Series S to an X today and the fact that I’m playing through Master Chief collection currently has me excited to play all the games in 4k again! I did a 4k playthrough of MCC Halo 3 back when I used my Xbox One X and it looked stellar.
Even if an Xbox owner were to never touch Xbox Game Pass, you can find insane values on Xbox with just being a non-subscriber to any services. From physical Xbox games being cheaper than PS4/PS5 games to an extensive backwards compatibility library, there’s so much you can do on Xbox that you just can’t do on its competitors. The closest thing PS5 and Nintendo switch have to what Xbox offers could be Super Merio 3d All stars, which you can’t even buy digitally on the switch anymore, and Uncharted the Nathan Drake collection which never even got a 4k update.
I’d be pretty happy if the rumored Gears Marcus Fenix collection is real and coming next year.
Though I’m not personally interested in replaying Gears trilogy or play its multiplayer, It’s a good decision to make it, it’s especially important to have the whole franchise on PC
MCC is really great with all additions like skulls, forge and theater for games and modes which previously didn’t have them. Its even better on PC with all these mods and historic artifacts they are doing with Digsite Deliveries.
If they go ahead with their current path, Unity is dead
If they reverse their decision, they will still be dead as nobody will trust them anymore and they will lose a massive amount of devs to other engines
The only way out of this is firing everyone at the top responsible for this mess and getting new management, it’s the only way you’ll get devs to think Unity is worth it long term
If I were the platform holder like Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, I would retaliate so fast finding that Unity is violating the terms of the platform by tracking installations. Another options is by counter charging Unity, so in the end Unity ends up oweing more than they collect. It will be an abject lesson in overstepping.
None of the big platform holders will ever pay a single penny to Unity.
Don’t click on articles with clickbait headlines, it’s the only way to stop it. Click on normal headlines, honestly I barely read any actual articles, I mostly just chat here and watch YouTube stuff from non clickbait channels.
I’m not surprised at all. Clickbaiting, ragebaiting and overall negativity works every time. Especially on people who play Twitter instead of actual games.
I have mostly given up on media because of this and a decent part of Youtube as well.
Thank god there are add-ons to block the obvious sites and creators doing this. Makes the browsing a bit more tolerable.
Like FIFA games that literally is copy paste just for Switch? But really, although fighting game is very much needed of latency, cloud option should have been an option at the very least. Wonder how cutscene looks like…
