I’m starting to wonder if ‘gamers’ actually know what they want. Although the discourse online is mostly positive about the direct, I have also seen quite a lot of posts along the lines of “Xbox are offering lots of games but nothing that interests me”.
When you look at their first party lineup this year you have RPG, FPS, TBS, Side Scroller, 3rd person Action Adventure, 1st person Action Adventure & a Simulator. I don’t think I have ever seen such a diverse lineup and that doesn’t even count all the third party exclusives (equally diverse), Square’s Mana (JRPG) or any of the other potential surprises they have in June.
Just to be a arse I asked what Xbox would have to offer in order to peak their interest and they can’t give seem to provide any type of response.
Unless they ‘copy’ Playstation I start to wonder what Xbox can actually do. Even then what are they copying? It seems Playstation is gradually moving away from those short action adventure games to big open world ‘light’ RPG’s which retain players for a longer duration.

I could swear that If Xbox did copy Playstation in their type of games and did them well, those same people will say “cool, I already got those type of games on Playstation Xbox isn’t giving me anything new or different”

Yeah you’re probably right… it’s sad because people forget that devs dedicate 5-6 years of their life to these games only for people to dump them immediately based on some idiotic bias. I’m sure at the pace at which Xbox is offering these games it will force people to consider them more openly going forward, it may just take time.
Maybe the only solution for these people is to either just continue what they are doing and wait for the tide to turn or copy them and continue what they are doing on top?

Honestly, I feel a lot of it is people will be interested in Microsoft games if it was on a PlayStation . There’s a reason why the recent rumour had many people online port begging for games like hifi rush , pentiment , grounded , sea of thieves , Starfield, halo, forza horizon, state of decay, etc. people are interested in Microsoft games, but not enough to spend money on a second console

True, I know Starfield was a mixed game but it definitely didn’t deserve the poor reviews it got.
I’m certain that it would have been reviewed much higher if it was on Playstation too (however I’ll stop there as it will probably kick off that whole argument again 
).
If we do eventually get to a point in the future where it’s a choice whether you subscribe to the Playstation or Xbox ‘app’ on your smart TV rather than buying a expensive console I can imagine that would have a huge impact.

Xbox just needs to release the app to more TVs then just Samsung at this point and, either have a streaming only option for Game Pass or promote the hell out of ultimate.

Agreed, LG especially considering they actually support full Dolby Vision & Atmos.
I just had a response from one of these ‘Xbox gamers’ with nothing to allegedly play and it’s hilarious. Apparently he brought his Series X for Forza, Gears & Halo and Xbox doesn’t have any other big games like you can find on the PS5 such as GT (he just said Forza?), Last of Us 2 (released prior to PS5 launch), Ghost of Tsushima (released prior to PS5 launch) and God of War Ragnarok (was also on PS4?).
It’s clear this one is a troll so I’m just playing along now for giggles but sigh…

It’s a memeable Pokemon type game that doesn’t play and run like absolute garbage like the offical branded games
As long as the game was half decent it was going to do well, it’s why iv partly been hoping Everwild would be going in a pokemon esque direction since it was revealed, there’s a massive market for a Pokemon game that’s actually given care, attention and a budget
