TA has lots of filter and sorting options, this Advisor like feature should be replicable.

It could be worse this year then the last two in the games industry job market. We had a great year of releases last year but the market only grew like 2% and it’s simply not enough to sustain the rising costs. Saw a rough job loss count this morning:

Japan Studio closure still feels like a sin.

Worst thing Sony could have done. They were responsible for some of PS’s most iconic games. None of them had sad dads though so I guess they had to go. I would love to see Xbox work with Bokeh in the future.

Oddly enough, they’re making a Gravity Rush movie. I have no idea how well that will do. It’s a niche franchise and if this is their way to see if there’s a demand, well that’s going to be pretty tough.

Lets see if this purchase accelerates the new Banjo game. This amiibo is really cool.

If the GR movie does well it will have nothing to do with the game/fans of it, like you said, it was very niche

I’m definitely all for more AA and even A games

I dont want AAA to go away but sprinkles of smaller titles here and there from smaller teams and more interesting ideas would be ideal

Time to put on my hater hat for a bit for a game I’ve spent years playing and that I really like: with regards to to mo-capped conversations, most of them aren’t mo-capped in BG3 and the ones that are have pretty bad animation and camera work compared to even games from two generations ago like Mass Effect.

There’s no RPG with mo-capped dialogue. Just for specially specific scenes, but most would have to be through an automated system of some sorts.

I’m referring to the animations during the conversations.

Just a heads-up to my fellow Threads users. Machine Games is on there now:

Yep that’s what I mean too.

So you didn’t see the mo-capped animations in cyberpunk during conversations?

I haven’t played CP77 yet. I know the animation is top notch, I knew since Witcher 3, but if all the dialogue being mo-capped would be the first time I know lol

Yeah, I know mo-cap animations aren’t the norm in first person or third person WRPGs, but the gaming media /fans on social media are trying to advocate for it to be the new norm in those types of games by pointing to BG3 (which doesn’t actually do this) and Cyberpunk (insanely expensive game with a soul crushing dev cycle). lol

From the bit of test footage they showed it didn’t even look anything like Gravity Rush design wise, it was still pretty early though. Guessing they’re planning Live action. Should have went with animation.
