They are hiring for an even bigger position now as well, to outright lead Xbox Japan

https://twitter.com/serkantoto/status/1696651229970022793

https://jobs.careers.microsoft.com/global/en/job/1616138/Japan-Gaming-Category-Lead

The responsibilities listed talk about pushing marketing and visibility there, “making strategic investment choices”, much much more

Whatever they’re going to pay for that position… increase it tenfold . Huge boots to fill!

Also just from reading the responsibilities I wonder -if- MS gets a JP publisher, this role will be the person said publisher will be reporting to, and not Matt Booty.

Edit: Reading more now, this part stands out

This individual will have full autonomy to impact and influence the business in Japan and will need to have the required leadership skills to drive impact.

So yeah, a full blown, no Phil involved, leader

I dream of MS basically reforming Japan Studio and hiring Keiichiro Toyama to create "(Not) Gravity Rush "for Xbox.

All coming together now…

I was bored earlier and found our new Head of Japan Relations name in various games credits (inc Gravity Rush 2)

Awesome we got a talent like this leading such an important role at Xbox. Thanks Jim :+1:

I mentioned this in the review thread but there’s a trial for this game in the store that gives you 2 hours of playtime. There’s supposed to be 2 to 4 hours worth of content in the trial though.

It sucks that studios closing. I tried playing Commandos 3 on Game Pass and didn’t really like it. I understand it was an older PC game that was ported to console but I much perfer Mimimi’s take on the genre.

A demo? Oh I will definitely check that out.

PlayStation plus is going up in price to $79.99 a year, could Xbox Game Pass core (formerly Xbox Live Gold) go up in price if PlayStation doesn’t see a drop off in subscribers?

Eventually? Most likely

Anytime soon? Probably not, they just had their price increases and most people are subbing to Ultimate anyway

Also this

It’s why they introduced the 3 tier system to begin with, they weren’t gaining enough new subs so they wanted to get more money from the ones they currently had

it’s probably because PS plus subscribers has been stagnant for the last couple of quarters

Oh wow this is a big increase

I wonder what the Canadian price will be, will it really be $100 a year for basic online?

I’m not subbed to any PS+ services so I’m unaffected. Extremely bad of them to do though. Console gaming “taxes” are actually starting to get kind of ridiculous.

Premium is only $44 less than Game Pass Ultimate :grimacing:
