XboxEra Community Hangout |OT11| It Goes To 11!

Once I saw that the car doesn’t move in GT7, but it’s the track and environment that does I was out. Lol that’s some jarring shit.

I know it’s disgusting seeing all these layoffs in gaming but I struggle to pretend to frame it a gaming industry issue not a whole ass system issue. Plenty of people around me lost jobs in different industries, retail, tech, agriculture namely since COVID, including my brother who still hasn’t landed a job yet. We got downsized and reduced salaries and i’m personally always reminded I could lose my job any day. It is what it is, a whole corrupt parasitic global economic system.

Excited to share the great work that the Windows AI team has been doing with our partners at Intel® to deliver DirectML support for the NPU in their new Intel® Core™ Ultra processors with Intel® AI Boost https://t.co/BpHLfOd9yz

Didn’t Xbox Series have AI chips and DirectML support in them? Could be interesting in the future.

I think so, but no one is actually doing anything with it or any tech Microsoft has put in, probably not even first party so far.

Da fuck? Yeah, that sounds ridiculous to be honest. I never noticed that, but one thing is for sure, the handling, the driving itself is so much more fun in FM games.

Wait…what???

It’s pretty jarring and once you see it you can’t unsee it.

Feels good to be back here after almost 2.5 months. Shitty months too that started with some family health issues and ended with having an accident and injuring quite severely my right hand (thank god the surgical procedure went well), got Covid after 3 years of being extra cautious too!

This forum and of course the podcasts (yeah even Nick’s hot takes!) kept me sane and I thank you all for that, also playing some great videogames (Dragon Quest 11 S, Cocoon, The Last Campfire, Pentiment, Wasteland 3) helped too I guess.

I am really happy to be a part of this awesome community and feels good to be back! :green_heart:

The incredible case of the racing game where it is the track that moves, not the car…

Was talking with a friend about games we really miss.

You guys have any that bring back memories? And perhaps want a remake or new one of?

Damn, that’s quite some stuff man. But good to hear you’re doing okay again. Good to have you back!

Something always looked off about how cars drive on the road in GT footage, it’s painfully clear here. Was GT always that way?

Yes, and it’s not just the footage; it’s why I’ve hated GT since FM3 surpassed the series in all the ways that matter. As someone with over 1000 hours of real-world track time, GT sycophancy was my first foray into how idiotic gamers and journos are alike. You can love GT, please do I couldn’t care less, but parading it around as some sort of “simulator” with any sense of accuracy isn’t conducive with reality.

Wow, I think that’s why there was always something off with how GT feels. For example, it’s hard to even check rear views what’s happening, and I wonder if this is the reason. I’ve always said the game felt more rigid compared to other games, and that could explain it

Good to hear and welcome back

Haha yeah.

Yeah, there’s no going back once you spot it. It’s like one of those kids toys with a little wheel and stuff. Horrible.

To me FM4 was the shit. I never liked a sim racer before or after, they put something in that that made it stick.

Don’t worry though, we’ll see DF and media still fawn over the series despite the decades-old issues that still persist in the damn game. Yes, FM’s career mode was a lot less than desired but I love how people forget that it, along with a complete lack of online play/livery features comparable to :joy:FM3 have been missing in the GT series until just this iteration. How quickly people forget about “premium models” and a complete lack of damage modeling… but it’s all okay now because some of those features are in… finally

Yeah, it’s crazy things like this is, for a lack of a better word, covered up by gaming media.

It’s right there. It looks awful.
