Personally any time I think of stuff I want to see from Xbox’s teams it’s doing more with the IPs they have. Like I’d love to see more studios interpretation of Fallout or Halo more than I would to see them do more Marvel or anything else.
That said, what I want most of all is to see studios make the games they want to make and that includes the freedom to make licensed properties.
If I had to choose though - maybe a Ghostbusters game from Coalition, OR a Godzilla game from Crystal D (I mean, soon, right? ) where it plays like a Tomb Raider game (climbing, exploring - big cinematic sequences of things collapsing around you) except you’re trying to escape a ruined city while Kaiju stomp around.
Any of them will be fine, you’ll mostly be limited by the USB connection speed, so faster drives won’t really show much of a difference. You have a couple of options, going USB to NVME or USB to SSD adapters. The NVME route will be slightly faster for writes, but the cost is usually higher.
Personally, I’ve had satisfactory use of a Sabrent USB 3.1 to SSD connector and a Samsung 870 QVO since 2020.
Some DF benchmarks from 2020 for simple copy to and copy from. The copy from are near identical. The copy to is the difference of NVME write-speeds being higher. Since this time, improvements to write-speeds of both SSD and NVME have hapened.
Personally I’d like them to use the ips they own and not use ips of another company.
I get people are psyched by blade more power to them. But tell me ms is making a new mechwarrior or banjo or lost odyssey and I’m in… Way more so the a blade or indieana Jones.
Though if gameplay is good I still will play them… But licensed ips are less interesting to me.
Though to stay on topic… Ill pick an ip and say Rodger Rabbit or a new Riddick game
Oooh, I like it. I had a great time with Escape From Butcher Bay.
Speaking of prison escape games… How about a Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off, where you play as Rocket as he plans and executes one of his many prison escapes?
Or maybe it’s an action-puzzle game, where each level is a new prison he have to escape from…
Could be a neat game if done right. And Rocket is a hoot, so if you borrow a page from the GotG game, and have voiceover comments as you play, it could work very well I think.
Ff12 is only great because of its post game content. The actual mainline story is a borefest and forgettable but its still one of my fav FF games purely because of the battle system, gambits and the amazing post game mob hunts.
For real, I never expected any company or developer would manage to do it because of licensing and everything but Fortnite is so close to the Oasis in Ready Player One it is a bit scary.
I tried it out and it is the usual mix of players who played the Beta and are bossing it, newbs like me who don’t know what the hell is going on, and those who do know what is going on but are playing it like team death match and no… Kind of like a capture the flag mode.
The levels are massive. And look incredible. The destruction is incredible, too. But… The game feels empty in the 3v3v3 node.
I would love BSG but I feel like it might need to be more than that. Space combat, political intrigue, I’m fine with cover based combat for on planet or on ships etc. I think The Coalition could do it fine as a way of showing they can do more. They were doing a bit of open world stuff and could see them stretching on that.
