Haptics and Gyro is all that I’d like. All other features are meh and would just drain even more battery and maybe even ruin the near perfect ergonomics.
Blooper games are fine, they might turn out a decent game but it’s probably impossible that it would satisfy old fans.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater Documentary is on sale at Vudu for $4. Watching it now…
I really hope Xbox takes good care of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise. In my opinion an announcement needs to happen soon about Xboxs plans, something like a lifetime contract announcement with Tony Hawk or at the very least a 10 year contract. Make it a big or small announcement… even if its a vague announcement released in a PR release, that’s fine too. Don’t screw it up Xbox Sometime within the next 6 months Xbox should make known plans for Tony Hawk titles.
I would definitely like them to add the hall effect sticks. They use magnets instead of contact so stick drift becomes a thing of the past. I would also like them to become repairable friendly. I know they make a ton from selling controllers but making them easily fixable would be a great upgrade.
Ah yes Gyro would be awesome too.
As someone who has suffered multiple times from stick drift (On Nintendo not Xbox) I do like the idea of the modular thumbsticks too .
The digital shift is accelerating so quickly, I’m really interested to see the impact of CoD on GP
45 year old gamers in shambles
This 45 year old gamer prefers digital over physical. I mean I don’t want to hurt my back getting up and changing a disc!
V Bucks and Robux’s going triple platinum right now.
It’s funny how things shift, last gen when Xbox announced the XB1 I was livid, I was hardcore physical and would only ever pay for something digitally if it was digital only like summer of arcade games
Ever since GP came a long I literally couldn’t care less about physical anymore, I still like collecting physical for anything ps2 era and before but when it comes to modern games, physical just ain’t it anymore
Hell, buying games at all isn’t for me anymore, just gimme my sub and a bunch of games
It’s still hilarious to me that xbox had it as an exclusive for so many years and rarely advertised it.
Anyways, I knew the shift was happening when I visited gamestop around 5 years ago and i kept noticing kids begging their parents to buy them vbucks, NBA2k currency, and roblox coins instead of games. I was saying in my head “yup, these type of games have that generation hooked”.
I had the exact same experience. I got a PS4 and it was only at the end of the gen when I read up about what Xbox had been doing while I was spitefully ignoring them that I decided to go all-in on digital. I had a fair few reservations but reasoned that Steam had been doing just fine in this respect.
I imagine they didn’t promote it because Roblox is a house if IP theft cards
I joke about old gamers but I’m old too and that’s been my experience. When I was younger I cared a lot about collecting and building a physical library but now that I’m older I just can’t be bothered to worry about it. “You can’t take it with you” feels a lot more real than it did when I was 25.
Robux are true evil. It’s possible to just blow hundreds of dollars worth of them on the utmost useless shit. I’m talking about “boosts” for singular rounds on singular games that don’t matter in the slightest. So yeah it’s possible a kid gets $100 in Robux for Christmas and uses it all by the afternoon to help him get some boosts that only last a single round on random games. The game is constantly throwing popups telling you to buy this shit too.
I think this has to be it, game was way too big for MS to pretty much ignore all those years the way they did without having their reasons
I came from PC gaming so I was allready digital when I got into consoles properly so I never really saw it as an issue.
Recently though I have found myself being interested in some physical releases, such as the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 one where there’s more of a collectible thing with more than just a disc or code included. It’s fun to have some stuff (map!), but that is probably because I finally have a room dedicated to gaming where I can have more stuff.
The only other physical games I buy are PS games when they go on their “oh shit we have too much stock”-sales. Hard to say no to things like TLOU2 for $2.
