They would fit with the profile of studios Microsoft acquired before Bethesda. That’s a studio that would benefit due to resources being the roadblock for their projects. Anyways, there are teams Microsoft could team up for projects, and Microsoft could use them or other devs to make a game with a dormant IP. I always wonder why Microsoft doesn’t tap somebody to create a game in the Shadowrun universe
Obsidian would be perfect for KOTOR if they were interested ( they made the sequel after all) with the original turned based gameplay.

Basically a free acquisition. Lets see if they manage to get someone on the board but with Altman as the CEO , his vision aligining with that of Satya and a new board who probably wont “limit” their advances, Microsot AI plans are about to get a big speed bumb.

Can’t see Microsoft doing anything about the Kotor remake, there too many hurdles. Sony might still have a deal with embracer and they won’t want it to switch to Xbox that would prove embarrassing. Microsoft also probably wouldn’t want aspyr to make the game so they would have to do deals both with embracer and Disney plus find a studio either internally or externally they would be happy to make the game. A better approach would be to find an internal studio who want to make Kotor 3(obsidian please) and do a deal direct with Disney on that.

Just so I’m clear Microsoft already owned 49% of the company and instead of Altman and his team joining Microsoft they are now returning/staying at OpenAI right?
I’m not sure how that is much different from a few weeks ago?
Microsoft will likely get a board seat and have more control over OpenAi compared to last week

Basically it’s a reset to Friday morning. The big changes will be at the board level and the governance. For Microsoft it’s an improvement as they likely get a board seat so a voice in the decision making with the only real downside being the reputational hit OpenAI took for the mess they’ve made of the last five days

Anybody hoping for the next gen consoles having an Nvidia GPU/APU is going to be disappointed going on their results last night. The margins at Nvidia are eye watering and there is a near zero chance they will do a cost effective powerful chip for Sony or Microsoft

Is there any chance this would affect their cloud streaming service?
I think I’m more hyped for Rogue Trader than Baldur’s Gate 3 at the moment as the two are releasing in december. It’s something that fans of Warhammer 40K never thought they wanted and I really really want this game to be good. It would pave the way for more RPG in the universe which are sorely lacking and it’s an heresy !
It’s a CRPG in the 40K universe and it’s coming on consoles !
