XboxEra Community Hangout |OT11| It Goes To 11!

Unsmart Delivery strikes again!

Its not enhanced but the framerate is now a constant 30fps.

King Kong is a game of its time. As a 360 launch title it could have been worse. Still took me 10 years to finish it, lol.

Via Game Preview?

Damn, here I thought there would be a trial or that it was GP. Didn’t expect it was the full game.

The sequel is coming to GP not this

Nah, I meant Game Preview.

Let’s not go that far; last thing any of us should want is to mimic the behaviors of the media and vocal minority online. I know you’re likely poking a bit here but I thought it was the perfect opportunity not to forget that Xbox will make mistakes and bad calls in the future, and it’s our job to hold them to remain critical and to call for better when those occur (you can love something/someone and still be critical, and levy objective and constructive feedback - a lesson a group of gamers and media alike seem to have forgotten in their blind fanaticism).

Absolutely. I’m just poking fun but joking aside, I’m happy to hear the game did well.

Gaben speaks the truth, Art style>realism, gameplay>cinematics. Feel like Sony has conditioned the gaming community to prioritize ā€œshiny graphics and art formā€ than gameplay. In the word video game, there is a word ā€œGAMEā€ on it.

I’d still avoid the Asus ROG Ally as they still have NOT fixed the SD Card Reader defective designs.

Tempting, but I feel it’s wiser to see what switch 2 looks like and same with steam deck 2. I think the next generation handhelds would be where I would jump In

Asus hasn’t issued a statement saying the problem has been resolved, but their customer support reps claim that it has. On the subreddit, the general consensus seems to be that units where the serial number starts with R7 or later (as in R8, R9 and so forth) are good to go.

That said, when I bought mine (an R7) I did so with the mentality of it not having an SD card slot. I’m still using it, but only to transfer data to the SSD.

Basically I asked myself: ā€œEverything else being the same, would I still buy this if it didn’t have an SD slot at all?ā€ And I answered ā€œyesā€ to that question, somewhat hesitantly I will admit. But now, closing in on two weeks with it, I’m very glad I did.

You’re equating realism with cinematic games when the article and the quotes within don’t really say anything about cinematics or visuals at all. All the article talks about is not letting realism get in the way of making a game fun.

I don’t even think that is an issue that would specifically apply to Sony? I mean, I don’t recall the games where you play a swinging spider themed superhero or the one where you play a norse god throwing a magic axe that flies back to your hands with a satiafying kerthunk being held back by ā€œrealismā€, or gameplay being a major stumbling point for Sony?

Personally, I just want to see a diverse range of games across the industry. I think Sony falls short of that with an overreliance on third person cinematic action games, but I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with some games being that, or being ā€œcinematicā€ or ā€œrealisticā€ or anything else.
