Last time I watched Yong Out was around the Fallout 76 release, dude was stretching 2 minute videos into 30 minutes, repeating the same points over and over again. Does he still do that?
Anyway, annoying/funny when youtubers begin to work in the gamedev industry but still want to be social media personalities serving as ‘the voice of players’. Their views pivot overnight, they begin insulting their audience and so on.

I used to watch Yong a lot around the MGSV release days, then over time his channel just became a rage bait channel, I have no time for that garbage anymore
I haven’t played any Yakuza though, is there a reason they changed from the old voice?
He’s not wrong. The update here feels like an update oppose of new skin and some cutbacks. It treated like a phone customer when they are respected.

Just found out Kotaku is hit by layoffs. I guess all day negative tone doesn’t suit well anymore.

It’s pretty awful in my opinion. Feel kinda bad about the hate he’s getting but then I remember his entire existence within the gaming sphere has been 99% toxic and so my sympathies quickly dissipate.

Just seen that LinusTech also called out PS for their upgrade while reviewing the new OLED Steamdeck too.
It’s nice to see more people are starting to query what PS are doing, rather than simply giving them the benefit of doubt.

Kiryu’s old English voice actor only did the original PS2 release and then returned for Yakuza: LAD, and the rest of the games before LAD (besides PS2 1) did not have dubs at all.
That they brought back the old actor after all those years but then replaced him I think shows that they are using YongYea for marketing. There seems to be some kind of push at Sega to use YouTubers to push the series in the West, Like a Dragon Ishin had a bunch of YouTubers cameo on a bunch of cards you can use in the game too.
I only know of him from the dumb videos that popped up on my recommended and some of his terrible takes, the “don’t recommend channel” is an amazing youtube feature
I see, thanks, I listened to some of Yong’s work and yea…this is on SEGA more than anyone else, should have been obvious from any audition that this just isn’t good
