It’s not going to cost 1k but many people are underestimating how much this thing is going to cost
If it’s not a significant upgrade then the console has no purpose, the flipside of that is that it is a big upgrade it’s going to be very expensive, they just raised prices for the slim “upgrade” 3 years into the gen
What exactly has Tom said about the Pro? I don’t remember reading/seeing any rumored specifications and im not going to listen to that RedGamingTech guy. lol
I mean, if it’s stacked across the board, then probably $700 or $800. I personally don’t even see the point of mid-gen upgraded consoles simply because the base models haven’t even hit 25% of what the consoles can do yet.
I understand why they did it last gen, Can’t figure out for the life of my what it’s purpose is this gen, Are 8K tvs flying off the shelves or something?
Downloads are not sales. If they were, Sony would state Sales. They don’t.
They dont indicate if 1 gamer had downloaded the game multiple times., as part of installing on multiple consoles or uninstalling and reinstalling to troubleshoot issues. They dont indicate if patches are considered a download.
Also with Game Sharing on PS, you could have 1 sale but it could be downloaded 2 times to the different consoles.
“One leaked spec is on the consoles Work Group Process (WGP) which was said to be at 30. This means that the console will have a total of 60 compute units, which will be 24 more than the original PlayStation 5. In addition, it will be 4 more compute units more than the Xbox Series X, which is currently the world’s most powerful console.”
So that’s an increase from 36CU to 60CU. Assuming same frequency it’d be a bit less than double, though if it’s RDNA3 instead of RDNA2* it’ll have some additional efficiencies
It made sense last gen. 4K televisions were being adopted at a high rate, what’s going on this gen to prompt it? Maybe Sony really are starting to think they’re Apple.
I don’t mind going back to shorter generations, I’m all for it in fact. It’s just these half steps when they haven’t even pushed the current consoles to their limits seems pointless as hell.
Yeah, last gen made more sense due to 4K and HDR. This generation, it doesn’t make any sense at all to me.
Damn. Won’t lie, didn’t even think about those who would re-download a game for various reasons and I forgot that Sony even had game sharing. lol
But good points and you would think that Sony would just list sales instead of downloads. But whatever.
30TF??? No freaking way. I would be shocked and forget $1000, more like $1500. lol
Specification wise, that would be pretty damn impressive but at the same time, the more expensive it ends up being, the less amount of people that will buy the damn thing. I put PS5 Pro at 2-3m because of the price tag. PS4 Pro maxed out at 10m at $400 and eventually less.
Nah, not 30 TF. If Pro has 60 and Basic has 36, Pro would be 1.6x Basic assuming same clocks. So if Basic was 10 that’d be 16. But there are also performance gains with RDNA3 over RDNA2.
I think they need to hit 2x PS5 to even make releasing a Pro worthwhile. The OneX was like 4x a OneS
The same will happen when it releases on Xbox. It was really baffling seeing this game used as ammunition for console warriors when I was sure most buying it would barely touch it. So people played it more on twitter than actually play it on console :v
