We’re excited to announce that Xbox Series X Console Wraps are launching this year, and pre-orders start today. We know gamers want to be able to customize their consoles and show support for their favorite games , and we are delivering an option that’s more affordable and more sustainable than purchasing a special edition or limited edition console.

There are three striking designs to choose from – complete your Starfield setup with a Starfield design that pairs perfectly with the recently released Starfield Controller and Headset, and we are also launching two camo colors to choose from, Arctic Camo and Mineral Camo.

  • $50 Starfield wrap launching October 18th
  • $45 Arctic Camo launching November 10th
  • $45 Mineral Camo launching November 10th

Cant wait until they do custom wraps

I’m pretty sure for MGS 2 and MGS3 but didnt play a lot of Peace Walker. Digital Foundry says it is also 60fps.

The wraps are a brilliant idea. I always have reservations about limited edition consoles and stuff because of the potential for needing a replacement and losing that.

I’d probably jump on it if I had a guarantee it would fit whatever mid-gen upgrade they do but I really don’t see that happening.

A very symbolic thing for the new era of Xbox.

It’s brilliant when you think about it:

  1. Silicon is at an all-time premium, especially as they’re pivoting towards larger orders for Series X (and less towards xCloud expansion as we saw the last two years - and FTC hearing confirmed), so this allows Xbox to release “special editions” in the current environment without taking away chips from general hardware offerings.
  2. The cost barrier is much lower than an LE by default, so more users can have a “special” version of their own Series X - inherently pro-consumer.
  3. These are non-destructive so they’re not going to muck with the hardware and require no tools - not using adhesives to stick to the hardware is probably the best thing about this.

Great option for gamers, and I’d like to see the offerings grow in tandem with the availability of bespoke hardware down the line.

Yeah it’s an excellent idea and product. I will get the Starfield one and if they release more for things like Gears of War, Avowed, Hellblade etc… I’ll get those too haha.

I would still want a LE Starfield XSX though, those are special. I love my Gears 5 One X.

We’re back in the custom faceplate era. Great idea and makes a lot more sense than special edition consoles IMO. Microsoft will sell a ton of these.

Reminds me of the time I spent far too much money importing the Blue Dragon faceplate for 360.

Still have my Mass Effect and FFXIII plates

That’s awesome. No word of a lie half the reason I don’t play anymore is just irritation over a series X update.

Can thank Sony for that and their willingness to give Microsoft their PS5 dev kit

I like the idea with the wrap but they are a bit overpriced and need more options. I’ll bite when a nice Minecraft themed one comes out.
