Jez is just manufacturing controversy where there is almost none. He seems to be successful

I wonder what will happen to all these PS3 server blades. Shut them down and no PS3 cloud games anymore? Or emulate these games on PS5 servers but dont provide this technology to users on their own PS5? This could get interesting.

I agree, he is intelligent, and can have really good points from time to time, but I don’t know lately, you would think Xbox was dying every two weeks.

Nice. Thanks Jesse.

What dishonesty? Having co-op requires the game to render everything twice. Series S has 10GB of RAM, 2GB is for the OS. Think about it. Last gen, Xbox One X was 12GB RAM wasn’t it? And Microsoft/343 cancelled co-op campaign for Halo Infinite so is co-op being an issue on Series S for a small studio like Larian all that surprising?

In general, I think Larian is brilliant here regardless of any issues with Series S or not. Think about it - they launched on PC a month before Starfield which they know will be fucking massive on PC so they great a huge launch now. In September, they’ll have a second huge launch from PlayStation 5 owners who aren’t getting Starfield and in 2024, they’ll release on Xbox Series X/S six plus months after Starfield which will give them a third huge launch.

I personally have zero interest in the game because it’s turn based but for those who are into turn based combat games should be thrilled with what Larian is doing because they’re basically going to make turn based games relevant again on a scale that hasn’t been seen on console since maybe PS2 era?

Hell, even if Series S isn’t an actual issue, I would still delay the Xbox version to 2024 because why wouldn’t I if im running Larian? Business wise, it would be near suicide to launch close or next to Starfield.

The PlayStation Showcase was definitely disappointing and underwhelming. For me, it’s tied for the worst showcase this generation with the Xbox Games Showcase 2022 percentage wise. I barely got any games out of either of them. Both were 6 and 5 respectively as of now which could always decrease if I decide to not play and complete a game that’s currently on my list from those respective showcases.

I’m not sure how this Jez guy does it being so frickin concerned and negative all the time even about an unknown market like the cloud.

I suspect this is the “dishonesty” referenced.

They probably have no real issues with Xbox, at least none that couldn’t have been overcome by now. They simply don’t want the suicide of launching next to Starfield. Making it part of the console war however also gives them the opportunity to launch on PS5 earlier since they have Cult support now.

I agree that I don’t think there is really a problem with the XSS, it’s just some more work to optimize for (of course) and they made a business choice to prioritize and release the game on PC and PS5 first.

See, like this is actually such a weird take

It’s unclear right now why Microsoft is struggling so much to get the silicon it needs to meet the demand for its Xbox Cloud Gaming platform or its Xbox Series X sales effort

It’s actually very clear, they are splitting their yields between cloud servers & sales, said very much so themselves. They are growing cloud servers, and their cloud servers keep getting to capacity… so they’re actually driving demand and cloud usage higher, that’s not a negative, because it means they’re literally getting more people to play… on the cloud. How is this concerning about the cloud, I don’t know, and if it is concerning about the hardware sales, then make your article about the hardware sales, and argue how the cloud is impacting hardware sales… wait, you already did that…

I’m telling y’all some levels of concern and negativity just absolutely don’t make sense

FWIW, I do wonder why Cloud has been a disaster for wait times recently. If there was a huge surge in usage I would have expected them to excitedly announce that, unless they don’t want to bring attention to cloud usage until ABK closes.

Fortnite is free to play on there and a bunch of popular games added to Game Pass Ultimate, like GTAV. That’s really the easiest guess, and maybe general cloud usage ha gotten higher even outside of the effect of those games.

Getting a boost because of the free ESO plus week and the Zeal of Zenithar event.

Yeah, probably. Either way, I see it as brilliant because they know Xbox fans will still buy and play the game next year especially if it releases during a dry period. And they’re getting all these PlayStation fanboys to buy the game despite years and years bashing these types of games. lmao.

It’s literally win win for Larian.

I was told free don’t sell.

How can Microsoft fully flex their cloud gaming capabilities when the regulators are on their butts about it. If anything this will allow them to argue that they actually have competition in the cloud space(especially from a direct competitor in the console space), especially when they are planning to acquire more companies. Love the guy, but his takes on thing are questionable at times.

I haven’t tried Playstation cloud , but I can admit that xbox cloud isn’t the best experience for me. The service has improved, but I felt Stadia was a much better experience

I haven’t had any wait times… I don’t use it a lot though, mostly for GP quests.

Finally finished Zelda TOTK after Metroid Prime Remastered. I put a good 100 hours in it, and in some aspects, it was better than BotW, and in others not as much, mainly quest design I think. Exploration was better though.

Does that count for sales?

Maybe ? I mean Zeal of Zenithar is good event to start in ESO if you recommend it to your friends (helping with overland bosses for the drop ect.) and with ESO plus you have the infinite stash to stack up on ingredients.

That’s actually was the time when I started on PC few year ago lol. Not this event itself but a similar combination.

Anyone else seemingly unable to download games on Xbox atm or just me?

Edit: Nvm, working now.

Buddy of mine informed me that apparently according to Nick Metroid Prime will have big open areas, so not open world but I’m guessing a bit like Dead Island 2? That could work!

Metroid Prime 4 reportedly contains massive areas to explore, though not open world - My Nintendo News.
