I get itās someoneās opinion or taste, but I seen too many of these to be skeptical about modern games journalism. One is a game that can/will last years not even accounting mods, with TikTok videos all over internet about wacky things you could do in game. The other is a Ubisoft game(Massive is one of their best at least), that has been slapped with Star Wars branding on it. Some people enjoy Ubisoft games thatās fair, but they just feel soulless to me, at least compared to a developer like Rockstar. Hopefully it does good(Iām a Star Wars fan), but itās not a āeventā game to me.
PS: The best Star Wars games was Knights of the old republic 1 and 2 and the original Battlefront games.

Sheās taunting hard.
I myself think the game play for most of their games are pretty fun, but like with Far Cry, I get tired of playing them quickly which leaves me voing months on end playing and stopping forgetting what I was doing when I return and making very slow progress.

Guess they love Starfield again.
This is not what I was expecting, certainly not from them and absolutely not about this game.

Itās what I expected from what weāve seen, looks like the same game. And theyāve released them in such quick succession.
That is true.
2018, 2020, 2023. Almost two years apart, and in the same city lol. I will say that I played it the first time on PS5 in 2020 so maybe Iām a little jaded.
Kind of the problem with a modern Spiderman game
Not much you can keep doing with the same city over and over, especially when you keep pumping them out so quickly
Will be fine for most people as Iām sure they just want to swing around as Spiderman but personally I look at footage and just get extremely bored
The new one apparently will have a big new part of the city, but there is indeed still everything else that you already know by now.
Exactly. Thereās only so much you can do. A friend of mine said āduh, Spidey IS NYCā but then I look at Far from Home. Why not have it take place in a new city or even country?
I think itās a good problem to have if youāre Insomniac.
Donāt have to create a whole new world for the sake of it and extend the development by 1-2 years. Also get to continue the continuity with each game in the universe as well.
As long as the gameplay and story is great, people will continue keep showing up.
I think it could start to feel like āmore of the sameā pretty quickly tbh, but I guess weāll see.
Venom is a pretty big change in this one, and they still have Meta verse stuff they can play with in the future.
Their story telling is too strong for that to be a deterrent from anyone wanting to play it.
If the gameplay and storytelling start to suffer then yeah, Iām with you.
Anyone else been using xCloud and noticing more and more queues? For some reason that was never an issue for me, now regularly getting 5-10 minutes wait times on some games (in Canada, in case that makes a difference).
I only played the first Spider-Man, but that version of New York wasnāt super accurate to the real thing. Maybe they could change that or incorporate other NYC superheroes like the Fantastic Four. And you can always fall back on time travel and alternate versions to spice up a location.
Personally, im hyped for Starfield come September but im also hyped for Ubisoftās Star Wars Outlaws in 2024. Reading the article which wasnāt written by Jez, I understand her point of view and why sheās more excited for Outlaws than Starfield.
My friend is the same. He saw the Starfield Direct and was like, WTF? Heās not spending 1000 hours exploring 1000 planets where 900 of them will basically just be for resource gathering. Add in silent protagonist, possibly a story that wonāt captivate everyone and it being an extremely deep RPG and again, yeah, I personally can understand why my friend or someone like the lady who wrote the article would be a lot more hyped for Outlaws than Starfield.
Luckily for me, im hyped for both and for different reasons.
Yup, itās not a zero-sum game. If youāre being told otherwise, itās by someone whoās too invested in console wars or who makes money from outrage.
Yeah, Iāve noticed that whenever I attempt to do some quests. I guess thatās a good sign that the service is growing
For SM was great for like 15 hours and then I wasnāt doing anything more interesting anymore, itās a very well made game but not enough in that formula to sustain two games for me let alone three. Had something similar with Arkham, by Arkham Origins I was so done with the formula and Knight didnāt change much either.
Iām really hoping Insomniac innovate with Wolverine, I really hope itās not another formulaic open-world game.
