Can’t believe I’m witnessing the end of the Major Nelson era. He’s been such a mainstay for so long, it’s a little hard to imagine the brand without him!
I tried to give this game a genuine try and it just did not look good or feel good to play in any way. Very barebones and cheap feeling game that instantly turned me off. Big disappointment after how much I loved Borderlands.

Never mind who post it and comment, but isn’t this game being done for Xbox as well? Strange choice to use. Actually, maybe not since it’s arriving very close to Starfield. Problem is, it’s multiplatform.
They’ll treat it as an exclusive until the Xbox version’s issues are resolved
Basically, “I will love this game until Xbox is announced.”
Nothing against Baldur’s Gate but that’s quite the reach. I would at least expect Kinda Funny to be a bit more subtle in their PS boosting.
Are CRPGs even that popular on consoles ? I feel trying to create a narrative of BG3 vs Starfield is doing Larian a disservice
to be fair for the playstation boosting they are talking about it in their own ps podcast in the picture and not the main KFGD like they have one for xbox called the XCAST
Pretty much. Many a console gamer that doesn’t know about this kind of game are in for a rude awakening , but god forbid the gaming press actually inform gamers. Clicks above all else!
Prediction time: Sony Ponys will have lost all their marbles before the generation ends.
Crazy to think Larry is leaving Xbox as he has been the face of the brand for so long. Wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
Plus to be fair, is anyone listening to the podcast to actually see what they say on the subject? Raising it as a topic is not the same thing as drawing a conclusion on the subject, and they could be equally as dismissive of the question as we are.
I like CRPGs, but very dumb for outlets to use BG3 for console wars because CRPGs are a much smaller genre compared to a Todd Howard Bethesda game. I hope they kills this narrative because it’s a bad spot to put Larian in because these games cater more towards PC and a much smaller audience on consoles
Not that they had that many to begin with…
I wonder if Larry is going to Netflix, could see them making him director of gaming communications or something and have it be a higher level role than he had.
Or maybe something in communications with Disney, I know he’s an enormous fan of theirs.
Yeah that’s what I mean. KF are undoubtedly PS people on the whole but they’re not console warriors, just people who genuinely love PlayStation and don’t have much knowledge and experience with Xbox. Which they themselves recognized and created the Xcast to plug that knowledge gap.
This positioning of another RPG as a Starfield killer is the kind of dumb console warrior move that I wouldn’t normally expect from KF.
Larian are doing themselves a disservice IMO by taking a Divinity Original Sin game and slapping the Baldur’s Gate name on it despite the fact that it’s a completely different type of game, but that’s neither here nor there.
My bet was on Jeff Rubenstein (another awesome dude). Rebecca Gordius (also super down-to-earth Halo fanatic) would be great too if she was in the running at all.
Couldn’t agree more. I have some great personal interactions with Larry from a few years back. He genuinely cares about the community and is a lovely human being.
