There’s the physical format problem yes but also many Wii U games often depended on having the two screens at once or at least had many gimmicks that required it. There def should have been a digital discount on the re-releases they did of Wii U games on Switch, but overall that was just them taking advantage of that nobody owned a Wii U, they didn’t care if they angered anyone who did have one lol.

I myself was a Wii U owner. Looking through the only re-releases I bought on Switch was Hyrule Warriors (because the new version came with a mountain of new content and it’s a fun time killer game) and Bayonetta 2.

Nah they aren’t gonna be able to coast the Switch 2 off of Switch 1 re-releases. Again that only worked because of how few people owned a Wii U so they were “new” games to the overwhelmingly majority of people.

What I wouldn’t put it past them to do however is have BC but sell $10 upgrades to upgrade your games into 4K or whatever.

What is the best Splinter Cell game to play on Series X in your opinion?

Starfield for me.

Hell I don’t even have a PS5 yet and I never got the drought thing. There is literally always something to play. Especially when your backlog looks like mine!

That’s cuz u more than one genre of game counts to you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: haha

Haven’t played any of them on Series X but I did complete the original, Pandora’s Tomorrow, Conviction and Blacklist. Conviction is my favorite and the best of the four for me personally. I really love Conviction. Would have preferred a remake for Conviction instead of the original game.

This depends on how many genres actually interest each individual. When it comes to new releases, I had a drought in early 2021 while waiting for Outriders but since I didn’t get the Series X until that January and PlayStation until mid-February, I had the launch titles to play and catch up on.

In 2022, after Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands in late March, I had nothing new to play until Steel Rising in early September. So basically, almost a 5 month gap with nothing new of interest for me to play.

Hahaha. I know right. Those damn goofs only playing one genre. UGH. The nerve. lmao :stuck_out_tongue:

Chaos theory and pandora tommorow are widely regarded as the best splinter cells. Especially when you’re taking about multiplayer.

As far as single player/co-op goes I think its definitely conviction.

I beat final fantasy 16. 8.5 overall and its my third favoriteo ne next to 8 and the original 7. as someone who hasnt liked the series since ps1 this is exactly what i wanted from it. story and music are both really good. gameplay is fun but not deep. some weird quest pacing and performance is just all over on both modes. took me 33 hrs with no special easy mode rings

It wasn’t on Series X but I played a couple missions through Chaos Theory for the first time a few months ago. The graphics are a little dated but I thought the gameplay held up really well. Super fun game.

When looking up these older games I thought it was interesting that the OG Xbox version of Double Agent is like a different game compared to the 360 one. The OG Xbox version is supposed to be more like a regular Splinter Cell game while the 360 version is meant to take advantage of being on stronger hardware. I think both are BC but only one of them is available digitally.

Other than Chaos Theory though I would recommend Blacklist.

Michael ironside is Sam fisher, replacing him was the biggest mistake in the franchise.

I wouldn’t say they replaced him though. He wasn’t available for Blacklist because he was going through Cancer treatment. They got him back for an event in Wildlands though.

Not to sound grim but the guy is getting old too. He’s in his early to mid 70’s. He’s not gonna be around to do voice acting forever.

I wonder if we hear something about the current gen Fallout 4 patch at Quakecon.

Not that it will matter all that crazy much, because as soon as September starts it’s space time and nothing else.

Is anyone having issues with installs or updates taking a very long time with initialising, or sometimes even failing? This has only just started for me, and I’m uncertain if it’s my XSX or perhaps on Xbox’s end that’s the issue.

Ah, I love this! Arthur and Dutch singing Country Roads.

AI.

The whole camp vibe is awesome in this game, Rockstar nailed it.

Outside of a few games, I’m not having any problems. But it does extend to moving games from external to internal storage, which means I usually have to delete and download.

Thanks, I checked the kids XSS and it seems to be the same so maybe it’s an Australian thing currently.
