It would be interesting to see where the price will land outside the US. The digital PS5 is $600 here.

Yeah, the digital PS5 is $400 here. They probably only made few thousand of them though.

I would imagine the PS5 slim is just a slightly smaller version of the PS5 digital and won’t have a disc drive.

I know a lot of people like and were/are in favor of Series S and I get it but personally, instead of losing money on every Series S and X that are sold, I would have released the Series X for $400 which matches the PlayStation 5 digital edition but offers a disc drive and better specifications. Of course, this is just what I would have done.

If all PS5s become digital and are 100$ less than Series X by default starting this fall MS will have no choice but to match or release a discless Series X and lower the price of Series S or else I think it’ll impact sales.

PlayStation 5 digital only slim model is my guess and if you want the optional disc rom attachment, add $100 which would get you to $500.

I’d say that $100 for the external drive is wishful thinking, I’d expect more like $150 to basically not make it enticing enough to get it since Sony wants to lock users in their digital store and completely take control of their prices.

Not sure how well that would do tbh. Physical is much bigger on PS, even here. The strap on (lol) would have to be pretty cheap.

I am pretty curious to see how the casuals will react to an only digital PS5 in the market as the only option. I think that the moment that they get to a store and things aren’t simple enough but instead there has to be an explanation about the new PS5 and how they will be able to play their PS4 disc games (having to buy another piece of hardware that has to be connected to the PS5 e.t.c.) this will not be too popular.

Imo let Sony focus on the ps5 pro. Microsoft should skip that and have their next gen console ready by holiday 2027-early 2028, beating ps6 by 6-12 months.

Also thank god ps5 is getting a slim. The OG is way too big and ugly. I might buy a slim, would never buy the regular.

I don’t really think Xbox ‘needs’ a slim either. Series x and s both look great, s is tiny, x isn’t bad either, tiny in comparison to its competitor. Xbox should come out with a digital only series x that’s a bit smaller and cheaper to go up against sony. I doubt the ps5 slim would be any smaller than a digital series x.

True but you will also have the 1TB Series S for $350. Does Microsoft decrease the price of this model as well despite it coming out in a few months? Which would lead to people who pay $350 not being happy.

If anything, I would have replaced the 512GB Series S with the 1TB Series X for $300. But we’ll see.

I’m saying $100 for at least NA because they haven’t raised prices here. I think it’s basically the same what it is already but instead of two separate consoles (one digital and one physical), it’s really just one with a small add-on.

Duels!

I still don’t fully understand what I’m doing wrong. The game tells me to pull RT slowly so that I get more time to aim. But when I do that during one of the bounty hunt missions, Strawberry in this case, the enemy is way faster than me and kills me.

But when I immediately press RT I was able to shoot the gun out his hands. How exactly do duels work? Because the way the game explains leaves to be desired in my opinion.

I don’t think it will matter that much tbh, while PS digital ratio is a bit lower than xbox’s, it’s still trending more and more up every year

When people see widespread $399 playstation’s, especially when Spiderman 2 is available, they will be flying off the shelves

I expect the amount of people that will care about the extra disc thing will either be informed enough so they know what going on or those not in the know and are confused by the whole extra add on thing requirement for discs will be an insignificant number for Sony

We’ll see what happens. I don’t see a digital only Series X though only because at that point, if it’s close to Series S in price like $100 difference, why buy it when you could just buy the digital Series X?

Personally the new series s 1tb should’ve been at the original price and the 512gn one dropped to much lower

While we’re getting it on game pass it looks like P3 Remake will be Sega’s first $70 game (called it lol). I think it’s pretty nuts that Sega looks like they’re gonna be charging this price for games like Persona or Yakuza when their budgets aren’t even remotely close to AAA games.

At least Sega is almost as bad as Ubisoft at retaining launch price so for non-GP games I will just wait another month lol.
