Love the official Xbox headset as I’ve said before. Got it for VDay and it’s been my goto for playing with my Xbox ever since.

So if you like the Starfield design don’t hesitate! It’s a great purchase especially if you don’t have a headset yet!

Todd said Skyrim has sold over 60 million copies. Finally now everyone can stop using that 30 million number from way back in 2016.

Remember when people thinks Bethesda isn’t a big franchise seller studio? Same with Diablo IV? Good times.

I pre ordered the constilation edition for the smartist watch, I don’t think I’m going to be getting any more Starfield merch for a bit.

Also very much jealous because those headphones looked great.

I wish all of those toxic F***wads on twitter constantly sniping at each other with their disingenuous nonsense would all get on a giant boat so we could just sink it and be rid of them. To behave like that because of videogames… :man_facepalming:

Funny when you call them out for being the perpetually on Twitter , non gamers that they are they always pull out the “show me ur Gamertag , bro” bullshit. Still wondering what that is supposed to prove.

Well he did at least refer to them as “my friends at Square” in the segment . I also wonder if DQ Infinity Strash on Xbox was the result of a Phil flight lol. It’s nice to know that to him Square is not a lost cause despite some people begging for it to become one, they still make great AA games…

He also says that engaging with JP devs is “work” because of Xbox’s low JP market share, but they are hard at work on it and that he still knows there’s more to do (I still hope to see NIS America published games someday)

He is asked “when a Japanese game skips Xbox, what are the reasons brought up to you on why?” Phil says

  • Business deals (we know what he means here lol)
  • Teams with resources to only handle 2 or 3 platforms during development (Atlus is/was going through growing pains with this, with Soul Hackers 2 Xbox One/PC being outsourced and needing heavy assistance from Sega with Persona ports)
  • Teams that just simply don’t have a connection with Xbox

I’m interested in what they got for TGS this year too. I sort of got vibes from this segment that Xbox would like to focus less on late ports and more on day and date. I still fully expect a lineup of late ports there though, I don’t think they will do new game announcements there. Also when Phil inevitably does TGS interviews again I hope he is prepared to most likely be asked about FFXIV again

The JP showing on the showcase was extremely strong though, big reveals with both big Game Pass gets and non GP stuff, was spread throughout the show (I don’t really like “confined” Japan segments tbh lol). Lots of investment, makes me happy to see and happy to see people who say “they should stop with Japan and just focus on the West” get dunked on lol

Like I been saying SE is the one being stubborn with the release of some of it’s non-moneyhatted games on the platform… Not Xbox “ignoring” them.

A Bethesda RPG is an event for a lot of people.

Sounds promising for those hoping for next mainline Dragon Quest.

Interesting. But I’m not expecting anything really big, no reason not to have kept that for the big one.

Although, TGA…we’ll see.

Someone has not been paying attention. It wasn’t much, but we did have Hellblade 2 gameplay, Fable very likely was gameplay during the forest bit and the other part where she went through fire.

I see his point about the rest.

the thing is, Xbox are not Nintendo. So, the way they have to do business, is that they need to compete for their game engine developers. If they’re making a game on Unreal Engine, they need to attract the talent to build that game, hence long-away development announcements. This is key, and it’s why the “announcement trailer” bullshit is firstly silly to complain about, but also as we mobe forward, we will get games closer to release. Like, Hi Fi Rush was Unreal Engine 4, an engine Tango knew inside and out (see also Ghostwire) but other titles need to recruit in for these big games.

Now we’ve had 2023 laid out, we have five huge first party games - Hi Fi Rush, Minecraft Legends, Redfall, Starfield, and Forza. Next year is beginning to flesh out, and we can then assume other things are readying for a 2024 announcement for 2025, like Indiana Jones, Contraband, Perfect Dark.

We know now that these things will come. Complaining after a showcase like that is like complaining at a Nintendo show “where’s the next Mario?” when you’ve got Zelda, Pikmin, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem Engage, Metroid Prime Remastered… we have to now see that our confidence will be repaid in kind.

Well over 6k subreddits have gone private starting today (some earlier) to protest reddit raising api cost which will kill multiple 3rd party apps.

Apollo is reddit to me. Guess I won’t be using reddit any more.

This would explain why I couldn’t access r/xboxone. Only check reddit every now and then these days as I get most of my gaming news here now. So no big deal really, for me anyway.

Fable said in Game. I never doubt Playground.

Hellblade is in Game Cinematic.

Is Blinx reboot even a thing? Who ask for that?

Oh lol, I did not meant to agree about Blinx. Hell no

Wasn’t that bit a troll by Jez? Lol

No one, I was thinking he was joking with that last complaint. But Jez can be a little weird at times.
