Had a go at the lies of P demo. Not bad, a very bloodborne aesthetic though the dodge feels a bit slow and clunky. Only thing, don’t put the game in quality high frame rate mode, that has lighting and pop in issues along with weird frame rates even with VRR

So like every fromsoft game? This game is going to do great.

The normal performance mode is actually pretty good. Looks good and I didn’t notice any real hitches or visual bugs but I do have a VRR enabled setup so it may be covering any issues

Nostalgia trigger for those of us who remember when a game coming on multiple PS1 discs was impressive and cool.

Damn, I was wondering why I was having trouble using the dpad for SF6. However, I seem to have found the issue was my xbox elite series 2 dpad is having accuracy issues. It’s hard using a controller without a paddle because it’s a gamechanger, but the dpad issues feels bad :frowning:

edit: It seems it was a firmware issue and had to update controller firmware to make it responsive.

the multiple disc case with the PSX FF games was indeed an amazing experience in 90s. simply because you bought the full game from start to finish and no delays/updates stuff to continue playing. but now?. we would be incredibly lucky if SE had a gut to finish the full story this gen.

Don’t have that experience with console games but I remember Unreal Tournament 2004 being 5 or 6 discs to install on PC and I remember my parents having an install box for an old version of MS office where it was on like 20 or 30 floppy discs. Mmm.

Ah, well that flew completely above my head lol.

I remember how i had to switch floppy disks on Amiga to play Secret of Monkey Island. Open door => switch disk. That was neither impressive or cool but highly annoying.

Thanks to the insane decompression power of Kraken and fast loading of todays SSDs these days are over.

Summer Game Fest got mixed reception, which isn’t surprising to be honest. It’s like a division of two worlds, where you only look at its games or overall presentation. Like I said on my end, I liked the games shown here. Pacing and presentation needs work.

This is something that has always been in my mind, but I think the main character looks like Edward Scissorhands after he started living with others.

Finally got around to watching the latest gameplay for FFXVI. Am I the only one who find the dialogue and the music kinda average ? The combat seems pretty repetitive as well.

I’m a huge FF fan and honestly nothing about this game is lighting my fire in the way past FF games have. I would still be buying it day one if I had a PS5. But from what I’ve seen so far it’s not incredibly exciting to me.

Lies of P is fucking great, Hard but is great. Xbox need it’s own 1st party IP soulslike. Sony has Demon Souls and Bloodborne. I hope Xbox make 1. The soulslike sub genre is gaining more and more popularity thanks to Elden Ring mega success.

Mobile games, a launch date announcement, Nic Cage and a movie trailer isn’t what people tuned in for.

FF VII Remake 2 and the launch date of Spiderman should have been at the showcase imo. Fans would have prefered that, I’m sure.

I think P looks like Timothy Chalmette from Dune.
